This seems like a good price to me, especially with Halloween just around the corner.

The Night He Came Home Perhaps the most influential and successful independent film ever made Halloween is the movie that put director John Carpenter on the map as a viable filmmaker. An exercise in simple pure horror Halloween takes us into the world of a mad killer Michael Myers who at a very young age stabbed his older sister to death. Locked away for many years in a mental hospital Michael escapes one night and returns to his home to continue his killing spree. Jamie Lee Curtis in her first role plays the resourceful babysitter who is chased by the killer on Halloween night.

Can someone confirm that this is the 1974 version as all of the reviews seem to be reviewing the re-make and not the original!

Don't you just hate the way that Amazon lumps all the reviews of films with the same name together. It is very confusing. Sure looks like the original one though from picture and title description.

It's just plain lazy on their part.

Not sure where you got 1974 from but this is definitely the original (1978) ;)

A top film and the blu-ray conversion is a good one.

hmm, reviews on high def digest (who i usually trust) say the transfer quality isn't that great on this one.

might stick to the dvd for now.

good price for the bluray tho

I have had this on blu ray for sometime now and the people on that site don't know what they are talking about, the picture on this is very good, watching this on a big screen on blu ray is well worth the upgrade .

it's not taken from the DVD master where they totally screwed up the colouring is it?

This just turned up in the post today, and I am very impressed. The picture is stunning for a catalogue release. Looks far better than it should considering it's roots. A must buy, especially for the price! I am certain it is from a different master than the messed up colour one. Looks gorgeous!

Just done a bit of research, and it seems that the Blu Ray does have some colour timing issues during the night scenes (the blue tint is gone). However, I think it may be down to personal taste. The detail is greatly improved over previous releases and I am therefore very happy with this release! If it is a choice of watching my old DVD and this, it'll be this all the way. I'll just up the blue tint!!!
