John Hughes Collection (3 DVD boxset) - £5.99 delivered !

Includes Breakfast Club /16 Candles (Sixteen) / Weird Science.

Synopsis : This truly is the best of the 80s and the best of John Hughes. The three films all perfectly capture the feelings and emotions of youth in three different ways. From the isolation of being an outsider in The Breakfast Club, where five strangers become firm friends for one day during school detention. Then 16 Candles which deals with a first crush at the tender age of 16 and the frustration of having an older sibling who is the centre of your parents world. Finally Weird Science, and the fantasy of every unpopular teenage boy, being able to create your own woman who will do whatever you want.

What John Hughes manages to do with each of these films is bring a perfect mix of humour and heart to the story and keep the story interesting and original. He is a director that spoke to the youth of a generation like no one else before or since and this is some of his best work.

Nice! Heat added.

These movies are great, although I believe the disks lack much in the way of commentaries and extras, but the movies alone are worth the price of admission here.

I'm a bit surprised Ferris Bueller isn't included as it was one of his best films.

Ferris Bueller probably makes enough money as a single disc.

That's a bit irresponsible, these films are classified as 15. :whistling:

I think a 15 certificate all those years ago was a bit different to a 15 these days!!

I was only joking. Although, as I recall The Breakfast Club has scenes of drug use and a fair bit of swearing in it and I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with my 11 year old watching that (if I had an 11 year old that is).

I agree 100% with that statement. They pack a lot more violence and mild sex scenes into a 15 these days. Not that I'm complaining. :whistling:

Is it bad of me that I thought this was a John Holmes DVD boxset  :whistling:

Breakfast club features discussions of sex and students being disrespectful to a teacher!! Weird Science shows you how to throw a party that will trash your house and showering with a naked woman!! Worst of all 16 Candles features a boy taking advantage of a drunk girl and joy riding in a stolen car!

DO NOT LET KIDS WATCH THESE!! Especially if they own a hoody or a games console. Teen pregnancy and drugs will await you! ;)

Damn...I must have a cheap copy of Weird Science, as Kelly LeBroc is not naked in the version I've seen (I'm sure she's covering the necessities)....Woman in Red however is a different matter!!!! :w00t:

No it doesnt make it 'right' just makes it OK for my daughter to watch, I for one dont think these films are that bad, they can see a lot worse on TV even before the watershed.
Thats just my opinion, was just trying to say that even though they are old films they are still great movies & that my daughter likes them more than a lot of new movies, dont know what the problem with that is.
