It is also a company 'owned by' the staff so it really helps rather than the profit going to some Billionaire in Monte Carlo. Ok, I am getting carried away - back to furniture .... !!

I hope you like the link.

Ho Ho Ho.

You mean Monte Carlo don't you and not the Eastern European Montenegro, where billionaires are thin on the ground.

more pricey yes but agree cannot beat JL quality or service.

I've had poor customer service from John Lewis every time I've needed to return something. It's always hassle.

you have must have been unlucky. twice I've have an expensive item. Laptop was in 2nd year warranty - got full money back, and full money back on an oven that was less then 5 years old (with extended warranty) that no longer makes the door hinges for it! Can't fault JL excellent customer service.

Watch out for the 'Special Purchase' JL stock rolled out during the sales. Quite often they are NOT the same spec as the identically titled non-special purchase version.

Many of these items are cheaper for a reason.

It is all relative I suppose. We spent £1,000 on a mtress from JL and seriously it was worth the money. We don't have mega money bit but it was so much better for a nights sleep.

Unbelievably it's the same in other stores that sell beds as well. You can pay £99 or £999+ for a mattress.
The reason so many people say Premier Inn have comfortable beds is because they're sleeping on a £500+ mattress there as opposed to the £150 one that they have at home.

Agreed Tweedie, in my case a Sony TV developed dark areas on screen at 4 years & 10 months into its 5th year and I got the full value back as credit to put towards its replacement Panny GT50 plasma. I could have also taken it as a straight refund. Great service and peace of mind.

Cheers. I have been looking for bar chairs that were not flat packed. I need some dining chairs too but there are not so many of those in the sale :(

i slept on a wool mattress on a trip to Italy. I have never slept so well. I'm not sure they are that practical though as I wonder whether the dust mites get in them?

Excellent! Bought two new Barbican Medium Semi-Aniline Leather Sofas - great value and can't go wrong with 10 years guarantee included! Being delivered this year too :-)

Just a heads up that on the website (atleast in dining chairs) JL seem to have added more discounts.
