With a unique ‘floating’ design, the Sony Bravia KDL55X4500 looks as good as the images it produces.

This flagship TV features Dynamic RGB LED technology to create images that perfectly match the original, with an astounding dynamic contrast ration of over 1,000,000:1. Film fans will appreciate the fact this terrific telly boasts 1080p true high definition. Add in clever 24p True Cinema technology, and when the KDL55X4500 is connected to a Blu-Ray disc player, it displays the original 24 frames per second just as the camera first recorded them. So you see and hear exactly what was intended. DRC (Digital Reality Creation) 3.0 also boosts the resolution, ensuring detail-packed images that take full advantage of the 920 x 1080 panel.

Sony’s updated Bravia 2 Pro picture enhancement engine, in conjunction with an Advanced Contrast Enhancer, ensures you’ll always experience incredibly clear and defined images, with 100Hz technology reducing flicker.

An on-screen XrossMediaBar eliminates the clumsy navigation you find on some TVs, making it a breeze to browse all the television’s functions.

If you have a digital camera, why not take advantage of the Picture Frame mode? This presents your snaps in HD quality using a picture setting that recaptures the warm characteristics of film. You can even personalise your TV with your own pictures from the built-in USB Photoviewer, or use any of six preloaded images ranging from pop art to Van Gogh. Sharing music, photos, and video is easy too, by connecting your personal digital gizmos - such as a Walkman or iPod - to your Bravia TV with the Digital Media Port.

DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatibility is another nifty feature. It means you can access your photos, music and movies from your compatible PC across your home network for extra convenience. For instance, you could play your friends the latest MP3 track you’ve just downloaded, even though your computer is upstairs in the spare bedroom.

Great picture quality is also matched by great sound with Virtual Dolby® Surround and BBE ViVA sound technology. It creates an atmospheric, enveloping surround sound effect with an integral subwoofer for extra ‘oomph’. You can even alter the volume of voices without changing the background volume with the nifty Voice Zoom feature. This is great for focussing on your favourite singer, or when you want to keep an annoying commentary to a minimum!

An integrated digital TV tuner means you’ll have access to a wide selection of standard Freeview channels and radio stations. The KDL55X4500 also arrives with a matching table top stand.

The clever Bravia Theatre Sync function also makes life simpler if you want to add a home cinema system. By connecting compatible systems (Sony BRAVIA Theatre Sync enabled) via HDMI connections, you’ll have one-touch control over the entire system, and far fewer buttons to press to get started.

Full HD 1080p
1080p is the purest form of high definition that a television can display. This leads to a smoother, more film-like image, which will satisfy sports and movie lovers alike. With a 1080p signal, the information that makes up an image is displayed “progressively” or all at once, rather than in an “interlaced” fashion.

Hi malawihap,
It's £1999 not £1.99 - so I've changed the price

Sorry but cold for me, not because it us pricey but the 4500 series is about 2 or 3 generation evolutions ago.

Looks nice but a monolithic design Sony from the current range is a similar price; little more than shifting old stock for not exactly a bargain price!

The title says £4.99 lol

Very generous of them to knock £3000 off the price.

'Bargain' at £1.99...although listing actually says £1.99'9'...so I guess that would be rounded upto £2.00 then? lol
