Crikey, no views or comments and already plummeting in temperature

Good price

Voted cold because setanta are the worst company i have ever had the misfortune to ever have come across... Would not even have the top up card for free....
#4
Looks a good deal on the surface but I have to agree that Sentanta are an appalling company to deal with.

Cant possibly recommend them after my experience with their customer 'service'.
#5
Also seen it for the same price in store in loca Tesco. Did not think to post as I know how well setanta deals tend to go down on here...

Be wary of Setanta Sport as i've read TONS of people saying they're a nightmare of a company when you try to cancel your sub. Not just bad, but extremely bad.
#7
it may be a great deal now but the cost of your hair as you repeatedly tear chunks from it while trying to cancel it (and you will want to cancel it after you see the quality of signal) is far outweighed

colder than a penguins testicles while suspended in ice

on the whole (they have by sheer luck of odds got people there who possess an IQ in double figures-) the most unintelligent ignorant call centre staff ive ever had the misfortune of speaking with

after explaining i couldn't view the channel and asking what was the quickest way to cancel-i was informed of what was coming up on their channels in the next few months- i cut him off saying i cant see it so it could be the greatest match in the world by Joe Calsaghi-i'll never see it will i?

:D haha when i came in here it was at 72, its now 54 just a few minutes later

I am currently using a USB digital TV receiver with my laptop.
May I connect this CAM with my laptop to watch Setanta? Thanks!

To be honest, I am surprised that John Lewis deal with a company like Setanta.:x

I know this is a broken record but seriously DO NOT GET SETANTA. I remember reading all these comments about 6 months ago and thought it can't be that bad. Well they are! I am only getting my money back now after around 6 months of letters and phonecalls. In the end HSBC took care of it after Setanta ignored my letters and cont charging me even though I returned my faulty card so never even had the service! Two words - STAY AWAY!

i think its a good deal - i signed up earlier this year for the "3 months for 1p" deal and stayed with them for a few months after but wasn't interested in the matches they were showing and when i called to cancel i got through ok and it was done straight away! obviously they tried to get me to stay -its what theyre paid for - but i explained i couldn't afford it and that was that.
maybe i got lucky? but i would def go with them again for the right deal.x

setanta - awful company

double charged me for 6 months last season despite telling them every month and then cancelling after month 5 i was still charged for month 6.

awful reception too

Can you not just cancel the direct debit? They will soon be on the phone to you shouting at which point you can moan.
#20
Cancelling direct debits do not give automatic refunds for unauthorised additional Setanta withdrawals. However, you may be one of the lucky few. It's your risk!

i cancelled it (since had to re-activate it because they're idiots and assume because they sent out a ****** flyer to me that i got it and saw the increase in cancellation period when they upped the price)

there are two ways of canceling setanta-

1) write to them recorded delivery (they tend to not receive cancellations which they dont have to sign for) informing them you are cancelling with them & terminatign your DD, go to your bank & cancel your DD, then they'll write to you to get payment info within 10 days, decline to give it they then cut you off & you pay the fee for the month (by cheque), plus (should you lose your mind) the reconnection fee if you rejoin them

2) honour your cancellation period (ensuring atleast 1 honourable party :p ) then as soon as the 2nd payment goes out cancel the DD at your bank

i chose option 2 due the slight possibility of the cleared balance appearing as a negative on credit ratings

if i cancel one i make sure to tell my bank to not pay them, include a dated latter to the company saying i intend to cancel it-if the bank then pay it, i think i'd be in my rights to ask for it back considering ive requested they dont pay the company and the company had been informed they shouldnt try for it as it wont be there
