He made his first film in 1926 and when onto make 170 more, so I can't quite see how this is his complete collection.

For many years JET PILOT and THE CONQUEROR were only viewed by Howard Hughes. He sold the RKO studio but kept hold of these two films for his own private use.

THE CONQUEROR is worth seeing for the sight of The Duke terribly miscast as Genghis Khan.

Susan Hayward: For me, there is no peace while you live, Mongol.
Wayne: Say, you're beautiful in your wrath.

There is also controversy regarding the possible link between this film and Wayne's cancer. It was filmed at St. George, Utah, 137 miles downwind of the United States government's Nevada Test Site.

91 out of the 220 cast and crew contracted cancer and of the 91 half died from it.

A high price to pay for the worst film he made.

Woah! I knew his co-stars such as Susan Hayward had died of cancer in the 70's, but hadn't realised so many others died as well.

Apparently, after filming on the contaminated location near the bomb blast site they moved a lot of the radioactive sand and dirt to Hollywood to keep the continuity going for the studio scenes.
