Hmmm, that's odd, it didn't look like a store specific thing - they had an entire aisle-end shelving thingy piled high with them. Maybe it's regional or something?

'No drain'? What am I supposed to have to drink with my tuna sandwich?!

10 for £6 in costco

So more expensive then - this is 6 for £3, or, 12 for £6... :)

Got some in Kettering so not regional.... perhaps only rolling out as stock arrives?

I'm guessing there are various store specific deals going on, I wish I'd bought more from the Doncaster store 2 weeks ago, it was only 50p for 3 cans of the "tuna steak with a little brine".

There was plenty all stacked up by the entrance and I picked up 8 packs, half way round I thought I best go back and grab some more seeing as it had 2013 best before dates but it had all gone.

Some proof (although I guess it doesn't say that its the 3xcan packs):

Not nationwide for me

Gave up eating tuna at home years ago. It just gets boring after a while, all mushy in sandwiches. Buying too much of this stuff can really put you off it imo lol. Just seems like such a waste to keep eating meat like that, everyday in sandwiches. Best to cook meat well and leave it for a special occasion or once a week or something.

I find stuff like homous better now in sandwiches, or other nut stuff and I'm not a vegetarian.

Dont like these....too dry..

Why do you presume it's nationwide just because Basingstoke have them?

My local store are not selling them at this price, nor is it £3 online, therefore it's not nationwide.

It was at my local branch, so it's at multiple stores.

Because I am a presumptious fool. But in all seriousness, because they have an entire aisle end stacked high with them (as in 100's). I was simply making the point that it seems like it's a genuine 'big' Asda offer, not the usual nonsense we get on here of 1 store in the outer Hebrides with a PS3 reduced to £6.73.

It's called an opinion matey. ;-) It's an opinion based on experience. I used to eat loads of this tuna but grew very tired of eating it. Constantly eating it in sandwiches just gets tiring, it's an extremely bland way of using tuna. By all means it's useful in other dishes but generally people tend to eat those less often than sarnies.

There are other factors too you need to consider when purchasing tuna. Often the origin of the tuna will vastly affect the quality. John West used to sell this really nasty stuff from Ghana which everyone who knew about it tried to avoid. But no! run away! someone mentioned vegetarianism and dare I say it..... beans!..

Ah that stuff is even worse. They should called it 'pinxes' not 'princes'...

lmao @ sotomonkey

Just because you feel like that, doesn't mean everyone does... Also, if you feel like that, just vary your sandwiches... One day tun, next day cheese, next day ham, next day chicken, next day beef. Following week, alternate it a bit, and change it by adding some salad... Add some sauces to your sandwich.

Next, you'll be moaning because you're fed up of hummus sandwiches. Hummus isn't really my thing really. I don't mind it as a dip on a rare occasion, but to have it in a sandwich, no thanks. Then, am I meant to have it everyday in my sandwich?! Plus, that's my opinion, no-one else really cares, so I wouldn't normally have posted it... But, since we're posting stuff like that, there it is  lol

I didn't say anyone else did. My post referred to my own beliefs not the beliefs of others.
