As the title says I get the Netto flyer prior to it coming out with the free papers and noted that they have John West tuna in brine 185g x 4 for £1.79
I think the RRP of £5.39 may be inflated but for just under 45p per tin makes a cheap tuna lunch

Nice stuff. If in urgent need of Tuna (not wanting to wait a week to try Netto) it's only 20p more in Morrisons at the moment:

Is it all the Varieties, or just the brine?

Not sure if John West or Princes are better or worse, tuna is tuna in my opinion, but that is still a good price

gotta agree sunflower oil is poo

Not so long ago over £5 for a 4 pack was commonplace with few offers to be found. If you want it in spring water (which I prefer), you can still expect to pay somewhere close.

Sunflower oil? well if you don't like that then they offer it in spring water.... Whats wrong with my oil suggestion anyway? (lol)... surley if cooking it with pasta or using it in a salad it works better!..? (Than salty water) ;-)

Heathens - sunflower oil rules. In water the tuna is dry and spongy. But in sunflower oil ----- hmm now that's what I am talking about...

Good price at 45p a can. You should never be payng more than 55p a can at anytime though. These supermarkets love their exaggerated RRP's don't they?

every time I see tuna I remember an episode of kenan & kel on nickelodeon sum 10years ago when kenan tries suing a company after choking on a screw found in the tuna tin, still today it cracks me up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQhW230D79o

I agree, Oil is horrible, might as well stick it in the chip pan and fry it.

The whole idea of eating tuna for me is low fat and healthy its not very heathly covered in oil, its not just a light splash like in a salad dressing it is submersed in the stuff (marinated),

Indeed a good price but i don't like it in brine,it's too salty,i prefer oil,yes it's messy and you have to drain it etc but it tastes nicer.
