Great deal. Loads of places have had this for around that price for a while - all varieties in brine, sunflower oil and spring water.

SERIOUS HEAD ON NOW

I'd advise you to only have upto 1 can of this a week as tuna like this is proven to cause cancer if you eat a lot of it.

What a STUPID comment that was...... Reading to many newspapers i think here m8..

Oh yea, there is cheese on the moon as well.. a heard in the daily planet yesterday

Tuna is not proven to cause cancer - it contains high levels of mercury which is potentially toxic. However, only 6% of all canned tuna has this high level and you would still need to eat ridiculous amounts of it to get poisened - I've been eating 5-6 cans of tuna a week for years without a problem.

I wish people supply a backing statement if they make a comment. I like my tuna and I thought it was a healthy food (not with my wad load of mayo tho :p).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/food_matters/eatingfish.shtml

The FSA recommends that “girls and women who might have a baby one day, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, can eat up to two portions of oily fish a week. Other women, men and boys, can eat up to four portions of oily fish a week.” In addition, marlin, shark and swordfish are not recommended for consumption by boys or girls under 16 or by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant in future.

LOL, and I thought the 4 pack was cheap!
No wonder there's not enough fish in the sea at that price!
#24
i prefer the springwater ones as it does not give that oily taste to the tuna and is better in tuna pasta salad or on sandwiches for my tastes anyway.
as for the comments regarding cancer from what i can research on the net it is not cancer, but more likely mercury poisoning uo will get. but to put yourself at risk it seems you have to eat and awful lot of it a week. even things that are supposed to be healthy for you can become unhealthy if not taken in moderation.
#25
I eat tuna daily for lunch, and my eldest son has eaten it in his pack up every other day for the last 3 years, he loves the stuff.
no side affects here.
where is the published study, and who did they test it on?

It isn't though. Own label tuna hasn't been cheap since before xmas.

Once you could get OL tuna chunks for about 28p and flakes for 25p. Now it is about 55p for chunks and 44p for flakes - and that is about the best price.

I know 'cause my cats like tuna as a treat and they have been rationed since it jumped in price.
