Noticed that the Jonagold apples were less than half the price per KG than all the other apple brands( normally about £1.50 per KG). This was not a special offer or anything and I have checked online and they are also 63p per KG online. Haven't tried them yet but they smell like they are going to taste good??!

These were cheap at Asda last weekend (can't remember the exact price - but really cheap, 37p rings a bell, but that could have been per pound rather than kg)

Also, not an advertised special offer or anything, but definitely not just a few reduced.

Presumably one is matching the other.

Hot deal - the Asda ones (Queensferry - North Wales) were very nice.

yes they were definitely 37p at asda last week
still a good price at 63p though

Morrisons, Sainburys, always sell Jonagold for 40p to 60p per kg. Good 'basic' apple, I like them. They are often very big :)

I have ben buyingthese for over ayear at all good supermarkets, the only ones I don't like are Tesco as they taste mouldy, like they have been stored too long (Morrisons taste best).

Tesco fruit is always almost on the go, I never buy fruit from tesco as it doesn't last, these apples were nice from asda recently.Originally 37p / kg 3 week ago , then went up to 63p/ kg last two weeks.

Hang on. You go round smelling loose apples that other people will buy?? it's a good thing I wash my apples throughly before getting my gnashers in them. I take it if you don't like the smell, you then put that apple back in the box? enough said!

These are OK, been buying then from asda since 2007, costed sth like 48p per kg. Remember getting them occasionally from tesco and morrisons for 50-60p per kg

Yep i get them in morrissons. Cheap, and I have been guilty of using their self service tills, filling a bag with expensive apples, and typing them in as jonagold hehe

Not the tastiest of apples. Looks like a larger version of Gala, but hard as hell! Not good for weak teeth / gums! On the plus side, they are British, so helps local producers!

all the other supermarkets have the at this price for years.... but it seems that the OP has started to look for cheaper prices recently :) ...credit crunch...

Not really a deal as this is the typical price of these apples everywhere else.

Bought these from Morrisons and they tasted really sour! I'll stick to Gala!

Discovered Jonagold apples when staying with family in Holland. Can only find them in Morrisons in our area of UK but we love them! Used to eat braeburns but these are so much nicer, bigger and cheaper! I see on the box that they came from Holland but I know they originated in USA. So big that my hubby and I usually share one every evening. Well what else is there to do at our old age!!!
