Why is Atari not cool?

Why give this post cold voting?

Imbeciles.....
#2
Maybe in the 70's they were cool but not now.

Atari were cool to anyone growing up in the 70s and 80s both with their home computers, and arcade machine coin-ops, "Asteroids", "Missile Command", "Tempest", "Paper Boy", "Gauntlet" etc etc were all huge successes. It is called "Retro" clothing, don't see why it would get ice cold, there is plenty of retro clothing out there at the moment....this would appeal to anyone 30+ that has a geek interest, I would wear it personally.
#4
Probably voted cold from those who thought gaming started with 16bit graphics :-/

Atari? Not cool?

I had a 2nd hand 2600 and later on (because I couldnt get hold of an Amiga A500) I bought a 512 ST ... with single sided external floppy drive. Just because something was made before you were (probably born) doesn't mean it isn't cool. It certainly is cool for those of old enough to remember that games lived or died on their playability rather than the pretty graphics overload.

Heat +1

Its a sad day when Atari "ain't cool". Why are we teaching kids about wars from 1000 years ago when computer games industry from the 70's is far more relevent :)

They could have field trips to try and dig up the copys of ET Atari dumped.

Indeed - whoever said 'Atari ain't cool' needs their bumps reading!

I still have my original 2600 and 800, unfortunately I sold the ST.

If it wasn't for Atari we wouldn't be where we are today with video games.

I would get me an 800 if it wasn't for lack of space with the rest of my retro equipment....do you have the classic hump which is worth far more, or the redesigned XL model?

I used to have a 400 when I was a kid, then turned over to the dark side with a Commodore 64 then Amiga.

80's.

"Everyone's going Atari, the number one video game".
Anyone else remember that?

Yeah, Atari's not cool. I'd rather walk round in tight turned up jeans, 'plimsoles' a tight pastel polo T-shirt and a f**king pork pie hat worn at a jaunty angle just covering my daft fringe hair cut than wear this top any day, huh.

Ordered thanks OP

I would guess it's because the Atari that exists today is almost entirely unrelated to the company that produced consoles back a few decades ago?
Atari is now just a name to splash on (predominantly) very poor games.

That would be my best guess. Voted hot though, I think 15 quids a fair price to pay for a hoody with a band name, etc on.

The RRP of £50 is pretty shocking oO

Thanks need some new hoodies now it's getting colder, Joystick Junkies stuff is usually pretty good :)

Don't forget Quidco!

Although only 2% for customer's that already have an account.
