I've been tempted by one of these for a while, and decided to go for it at this price. Should be ideal to hook up my Wii, Xbox, Freesat box and DVD player to my HD TV.

No HDMI, but you can still do HD over component cable. The 3-port network hub is a handy addition too.

See first post for full specs & description.

HOT! Nearest I can find to that is £29.95 and that's pre order!

No HDMI will put quite a few off though.

Looks useful for those who have several media devices to hook up
I think Total Film give these (or equivalent) away for free when you subscribe as well

You need an extra adaptor from Joytech's tech help dept. to make the Wii work through component with this unit...

Thanks for the info - do you have any more details? I have the Wii component cable which works fine when connected directly to the TV, is that no good for the Joytech unit?

Hi, has this got anything to do with surround sound? what are the optical cables used for? I want to connect my PS3 and 360 to surround sound (dont have an AMP) :?

Thanks

Will this method work on the 245C though?

Yeah it's a little plug through adaptor that sits on the green connector, check out post 9 above for swapping ports, that might work, can't test it here as I sold my Wii a long time ago...

Looks good if you have a TV with limited outputs.

What are the ethernet ports for ? can you stream media off a network ? and if so, what formats are supported ?

The ethernet ports act just as a hub, nothing more. A handy feature -- saves you from having to use a seperate hub/ switch.

Blimey, that sold out quick! Hope it comes back in stock for anyone that missed out.

It's just a hub, to share one connection (e.g. to your router) between up to three of your devices.

All this would enable you to do is connect multiple devices to an existing amplifier's optical input.

Yeah, I would have preferred it in black but for this price I'm not complaining :)

Thanks, I'll give that a go with the 245C when it arrives and will report back.

Does anyone know if this will take optical as an input and output to analogue audio?

Ive been looking for a device that will for ages (believe they call it a DAC), they all seem to go for around £70 cheapest.
I need to run a cable over a long distance to my audio setup and analogue looses too much quality and needs to be amplified alot.

Afraid not, according to the manual:

"Each input connection will only correspond to the matching output connection. For example, a Component Video cable attached to Component Video Input 1 can only be viewed via the Component Video Output Socket and cannot be displayed via the S-Video, Composite Video or Stereo Audio RCA Output Sockets"

Mine's arrived now and I'm very happy with it. Only hooked up my Wii and Xbox so far, need to get some more cables before I can add my Freesat box, DVD player and HTPC.

I can confirm that I didn't need a special adaptor to connect the Wii, neither did I need to swap the green and blue plugs.
