Does this need it's own power source?
#2
i think it does, but can be powered via usb
#3
As BiGT said - comes with a power supply but can be powered from a 5v USB source. The USB on the back of my Sky box doesn't work though.

Sorry bud, I did a search for 'trilink' before posting.

Note, stock now showing as MEDIUM.

This was a bargain when it was £10 at HMV. Works ok with Sky HD box and blu ray player. The only thing is that the remote could be more responsive (less direct) and that I have to switch off and restart either player to get the AV channel to recognise the input. Apart from that, I still recommend it.

Might be a silly question but can this be used for 3 hdmi sources when one of them isnt a ps3. For example.....2 dvd players, and sky hd. Cheers in advance.
#18
hot, was looking for one of these but couldn't find one locally

What makes you think you need a PS3 to use it ????

You can plug in up to three devices. Doesn't matter what they are. I bought one of these from HMV for £10 a couple of months ago and it's got some issues. When I switch from Sky HD to the DVD recorder, everything's fine, but when I switch back to Sky the picture is all messed up and I have to unplug the switch to get it to work again. I emailed the helpdesk at Joytech a few weeks ago but no reply.

Will this allow me to go the opposite way.

Ive got a TV + Projector id like to connect to my SKY HD box....will this allow me to split the connection to both?

Thanks

Hi There, I have a question and pls excuse me if I come across non-techie. I have a SAMSUNG LCD TV with one HDMI input which e.g. doesn't allow me to listen to football commentary through my home cinema speakers and subwoofer. The only thing that comes out of the speakers is DVD being played. Would this address this limitation i.e. would I be able to connect the DVD player and Shy box to this switcher? Thanks in advance
#26
Got one of these some time ago and it is not very good, remote has to be pushed several times and due to the fact the item sits out of the way you can,t tell what input it is switched to. would not recomend.
#27
Ordered. Can anybody recommend a cheap, decent switch for optical? I only need 2 inputs.

Cheers, Shane
#28
You need to connect a audio lead from tv to dvd player. I had the same problem when I set my tv up.
#29
Has anyone come across a 2 to 3 input and a 1 to 2 output model?
#30
ordered thanks...H&R
#31
I've ordered one. I'll be seeing how well it works on a Dell monitor when it arrives :)
#32
Hi Juslay, I take it you answered my question and thanks.

Got this from HMV when it was a tenner - it doesn't come with any HDMI cables (which I wrongly assumed it would to connect to the TV) but managed to pick up one from Sainsbury's for a quid that was posted on here. Got mine connected to my 360 and my PC, works fine although sometimes I need to reset my PC for it to switch to the PC (not always though). Not really used the remote as I usually switch it via the button (as I only switch it when I turn on the 360 which is sitting next to it anyway). Definately would recommend for anyone looking for a cheap option as some of the boxes can be pretty pricey and obviously it's much better than having to swap out cables from behind the tv (which I had to do previously!).

A couple of people in this thread seem to be after hdmi splitters, ie run two displays from one source

Ebuyer have one, http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143399

Im sure they used to have a 4 output splitter as well.

If you google 'hdmi splitter' you'll find plenty, but most are very expensive. Dont be fooled by the price, the ebuyer one works fine.

If you need to get your box to change to the pc when the pc is already on, you shouldnt need to reset the pc.

right click on the desktop, from the menu goto properties, then settings. right click on your second display and click attached. this should turn on the connection, and switch your box over to the pc connection.

Be aware that when I bought one of these myself I found to my detriment that it has a bad interaction with certain large Samsung LCD TV's whereby the PS3 refuses to recognise that it can output 1080p, and only outputs as 1080i. Removing the TriLink Switcher from Joytech out of the equation and plugging directly into the TV solved the problem. Apart from that major howler, no other significant problems with this.
