Worth noting some cheap fishing reals are made for left handers which makes it dificult to use from past expirence, especially for youngsters.

Looks like the ones sold in my local poundshop which are pretty rubbish as the have plastic gears that dont work properly.

Are you saying that this item is specifically aimed at the left handed Asian market?

The reel in the picture looks normal.Like any of the reels I have and I'm right handed.

I think it's aimed specifically for left handed Asians who are genetically dispositioned to be able to roll their tongue in a tube shape. :giggle: That is, rather than right handed or left handed flat or tube tongued Europeans.

ps voted hot! Brill for Bridlington with the kids!

Looks reely good.

Abosolute rubbish! Yeh it's cheap and you can use it to hold up your runner beans after the holidays but otherwise a waste of money.
Aldi & Lidl have had better sets recently.
The Line is prolly better suited to sea fishing & hooks will be far too big.

No not really, but i have purched a few of these cheap rod/ reels in the past while on holiday in asia and found them all to have the arm on the right whitch means you have to hold the rod in you left hand which i find very difficult.

Guess with an rrp of under 5 pounds ,these will be of poor quality.

You mean you've got to have a licence for a kid:?

Jeez, I've got two and I thought I paid enough in taxes already.

You'll be telling us next that you've got to have a licence just to sit by a river and catch a fish :p

Keep the eyes and boil them. They make great marbles.

Please, please, please avoid buying sets like this. They are utter rubbish and should never be used. Tne line supplied will be of very poor quality, which means it will no doubt snap when hooking anything over 1/2lb (most fisheries are now stocked with carp in the 2lb-20lb size bracket), this will leave the hooked fish trailing line/weights/floats ect, which causes the fish to become snagged, and ultimatly die. Please vote cold and avoid.

You only need a licence if you are over 12 years old and fishing in fresh water....... still avoid and get the slightly better ones from Lidl or Aldi.
