Manufacturer's Description

A pre-warmed cup allows the coffee aroma to develop to its fullest for the ultimate coffee result. When no heat is lost by the coffee to warm a cold cup, you can enjoy your favourite speciality at exactly the right temperature.

2 Heating elements keep the inside of the unit warm at around 55C. A modern cushioning system allows the two drawers to close silently and keep the heat inside. Each drawer can store 6 cappucciono cups (diameter 90mm), 4 coffee cups (diameter 66mm) or 5 espresso cups (diameter 57mm). Automatic switch on/off times can be programmed, ensuring the cups are at the optimum temperature when you need it to be and saving energy when you don't. A light, elegant look is achieved with translucent high quality frosted plastic side walls and the contemporary clean lines perfectly compliment all ENA and IMPRESSA coffee machines in the JURA range.

Could a microwave not pre-warm a cup if such a thing is necessary?
#3
haha microwaving a cup doesn't look as good, I've been watching this for a while so was surprised when it had £139.30 off! :)

I thought when you added hot water that it heated the cup. It's always worked for me. lol

I don't know if I should vote it hot as it's really cheap, or cold as it's absolutely ridiculous.

Cup warmer? I thought this was for mugs?
#13
What's next a self stirring mug?

I hand grind my beans and use an aeropress so you can fairly say I love my coffee but even I think this is ridiculous. It's such a waste of energy.

Just pour boiling water into the cup and then discard before pouring. It heats the cup and gets rid of any lingering suds.

You have to be a mug to buy one! (_;)

quite possibly the most pointless item I've ever seen

It doesn't say 'was' £199, only that the supposed RRP is that figure. Do you really not know the difference?
#18
now back up to a more sensible price hahahaha
#19
Back up to £189.99 ....but that does include free delivery hehe

Never knew such a thing existed.....but....Want one!

Gone back up now so saved me some money. Will continue to pre-heat coffee cups with boiling water. Most coffee makers/machines don't produce a very hot output, so the drink goes cold fast unless you warm the cup up. Nice niche spot amckeand.
