These are the kind of deals that are KILLING this website.

Its just like "so what?" - saving a few pennies is hardly worthy of broadcasting on a public website.

Like ive said before....these kind of 'deals' should be banned.. i mean, i could post a hundred supermarket 'deals' on here and literally clog the hell out the place...but that would completely ruin the site and this is what these deals are doing imho

Lots of people (myself included) often search specifically JUST for the grocery deals, so I think it's really great that we can find them all in one place. Lots of deals on here are no use to me, but I wouldn't expect them not to be posted! Each to their own eh??

Not really....anyone who would go out there way to go to another supermarket because they can save 50p on some pastry really needs to take a good hard look at themselves
#13
I've quite taken to making mini puff pastry pizzas so going through this stuff pretty quickly. Good price.

I disagree, single mum, trying to keep two growing teenage boys filled...... checking on supermarket bargains really helps my finances. ... and I can walk to 3 different ones, so it's good for my health too!

I think the point im making is this.....Sainsburys is 'generally' classed by the masses as a more expensive supermarket than most others...now, if you are going to make a special trip to do your shopping at Sainsburys jusr because you can save 50p on some pastry, then im affraid youre gonna blow this 50p (and much more) buying the other stuff you need for your weekly shop that would be cheaper in the other supermarkets.

False economy i think they call it.

Sainsburys is same/similar price as tesco, asda in all fairness, with majority products being better.

As for these, I do like them and trying new stuff with the pastry. Will pop into sainsburys in next few days.

Thanks for the user who posted this deal.

Incorrect...you will find as a whole sainsburys is regarded as one of the more expensive supermarkets...FACT

When I go shopping, I get the old smartphone out, do an advanced search for all the hot deals in Sainsburys for example. Brilliant way to find exactly these types of deals. This is a fantastic website which caters for all types of deal hunters. So stop moaning!

Don't know where you live but round my way Sainsbury's is one of the cheaper supermarkets. There was this one area where the only shops were - Co-op's, corner shops and a Waitrose (wasn't even a rich area, great big council estate next door). We've only recently got a load of Tesco's springing up in the city centre and they aren't really much cheaper - they seem to have offers on brand named stuff but their own brand quality is shocking.

Agree. Asda/Tesco may appear cheaper, but majority of that is through the way they advertise products in comparision to sainsburys. Anyway enough feeding the troll go back under your bridge.

I bet you do **rolls eyes**

You are missing the point - whilst yeah, you may come on here and notice a good deal (like 50p off something or other) but going to one particular supermarket JUST because youve seen a deal for 50p off one item is going to be false economy...as a lot of the other items are going to be more expensive than a different supermarket and your 50p you saved will soon be whittled down to NO saving (and even the trip may cost you more in the end)

Its false economy to make a special trip to one supermarket just because youve seen a deal for 50p off an item. And thats why i just dont think these deals should be on here.....or as an alternative, maybe supermarket deals should have their own seperate section.

You should not assume the actions of others.. I have 3 big supermarkets I can choose to shop at, and often shop at all 3. I don't do one single shop, but buy the products I need, where they are cheapest.

Because, any deal does, when it gets hot..... to get hot, people have to vote, to vote, they have to hsave been interested in the product and think the price is good....... therefore..... there are enough people interested in grocery deals, for it to be shown on the first page.

What im saying is, groceries should have its own section seperate from the main website page - so people wanting to save 3p on a packet of tampons can gladly go and view this section every day before they do their shopping.

It wouldnt be so bad if it was the odd deal, but some days the whole website is totally flooded with silly little '2p off this' and '12p off that' and i think personally it is taking a lot away from what this site 'used' to be and how it 'used' to be great.

Its not just me, i know many others who feel the same.

I love this site but its become harder and harder to find 'real' deals due to all these little shopping deals that lets be honest, only get posted so the OP can get some cheap heat, no other reason at all.

You probably have too much time on your hands then. Who on earth has time to visit 4 or 5 different supermarkets each and every week cherry picking the best deals from all of them? - its just unrealistic.

Intransigent? And I do believe the advanced search button works rather well.

Instead of spending money just for the sake of a "deal", why not search, for those occasions once in every few years, where you do need to replace the TV etc etc etc?

And if the new format of Hotukdeals no longer works for you...... perhaps you could design your own site?
#31
Talk about missing the point! You dont go for JUST ONE deal. Combine that with several out there and you grab yourself a bargain. I shop in Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys and locally, as I'm sure many others do. You balance the deals with convenience. Asda can be cheaper on a few products and vice versa, but the Sainsbury's for me is a minute's walk away. I would need a car or public transport for Asda, so it evens out anyway. Point is, these deals are as much a part of HUKD as other non supermarket deals. You can also ignore such deals and move on...

Yeah 3 people out of the tousands that are members.

The deals have their place, but i just dont think saving 3p on a bar of soap or 5p off a can of beans is enough of a 'deal' to warrant it being on the main page clogging it up.

Just my opinion though...we are all entitled to one

It sooooooo easy to look through the deals and find some that are interesting.... that's obviously beyond you.

I wonder how long it is, since a deal reached "hot" if it were only 3p saved on soap, or 5p saved on beans? Perhaps you would like to carefully read deals in the future.

Could also say 3 times as many as the opposite view.
Also this deal was in fact 50% off as opposed to 3p as you suggest. Taking 50% off a monthly shop adds up considerably! Anyway, if you dont have the patience to scroll past a deal you dont like, but would rather be a little bitter about it, really that is your loss..

There's no point in talking to someone who can't read what you write!
Anyway if the deals are rubbish they won't get heat. If they are hot, people vote it hot. Simples. So quit your moaning.
