What can I say. One of my fave games of all time. In all probability better than Far Cry 3 and 4 combined. Down to half of a fiver again. Doesn't include the DLC but the game is so fulfilling on it's own I've not even felt the need to buy a couple of guns and a few cars.

Gamersgate also have a huge sale on now so whilst I could be lazy and do the often done "Plus these 37 other games" I'll make the effort to pick out just one.

I'll sit back and watch the Gamersgate listings appear now....*puts feet up*

I was lucky enough to buy: Just cause + Just cause 2 + ALL of just cause 2 DLC for only £2.59

That steam sale was awesome.

This deal is decent, heat added.

I made the mistake of playing Just Cause 2, having long since uninstalled Just Cause having played a few minutes of the demo, then buying Just Cause and can honestly say.....anyone getting just Just Cause 2 wouldn't be missing much. They're almost like 2 different games.

I'll be honest..I only bought it to play multiplayer with a buddy of mine. Haven't even touched both SP versions of the game

Damn. That's the strongest element. Conversely, the multiplayer appears to be the only reason to bother with Far Cry these days. I'm definitely a single player - which is why I'll always prefer Just Cause 2, and cannot wait for Just Cause 3 - which they also seem to be hinting will again be focussed on the single player which couldn't be better news.

Hm, I might just fire up the game and try it out.

Played both - it destroys it. Though I can see myself (just about) wanting to complete Far Cry 3, I can take it or leave it - and haven't played for a couple of weeks now. Just Cause 2 I found myself compelled to complete - wanting to spend every available minute I had of gaming time on it. Faction missions, challenges, go anywhere, do anything, work for factions, work for yourself, challenges, a colossal world.
Compare this to the joy of bullet proof leaves in Far Cry 3.

I liked both games but don't see the comparison as being fair we're talking a first person v third person sandbox shooter, FC3 despite being a Ubicrap game did have way more of a story than JC2 which in turn gave you vastly more freedom to do what you wanted. I did think FC3 pulled off the sound effects and physics better, but then again JC2 wasn't about realism.

Trying to take out an enemy with a sniper rifle and being prevented from doing so by a leaf is realism..?oO
