Just Cause 2 [PC] @ Gamers Gate - £2.49

It was £3.49 a few weeks back and it's come down in price by another pound. I'm tempted to buy it again even though I already own it on the 360. Fantastic game.

I was looking at this about 6 months ago but never got around to buying it. Though I just got Saint's Row The Third (but haven't played it bar the beginning and char creation screen). Just Cause 2 vs Saint's Row 3?
#2
Top game, top price. Get this if you enjoy messing about causing chaos.

Actually, at this price, everyone should get it.

A true "open world" game. Heat added.

Saints Row 3 actually had a story and structure to it, plus it's just a bit more crazy.

Just Cause 2 is a LOT of game for £2.49, you'll blow a lot of stuff up, fly, boat, surf, drive, paraglide somewhere else, and do it again. It's a great sandbox, and I enjoyed it, but there's not much story to speak of.

Still play this game some 2 years after buying it, for £2.49 you would be stupid not to get it :)

This is A Great Game! and for only £2.49 its a steal Heat added :D
#6

#7
JC2 vs SR3 is an excellent comparison, but id have to give it to JC2.
#8
Anyone know if it's Steam activated? Nevermind I've just checked the page.

I've never used GamersGate before but noticed this on the details:

DRM:Steamworks (Requires a 3rd party download and account)

Do they install their own system similar to Steam onto your PC or is it just a matter of they provide you with a Steam code and you can set it running from Steam? I'd rather not have any other third party stuff on my PC if I can help it and prefer to have all my games within Steam if possible.

once purchased gamersgate will deliver the steam code to your a/c. copy and paste the code to your steam app as usual and off you go

the complete edition with the DLC packs makes more sense really.. they add loads of extra guns and vehicles... also on gamersagte sale for about a fiver.

Just Cause is a FAR bigger game than Saints Row 3 ( I got both with all dlcs), visually both in Dx11 and look mint maxed out, Saints wins if you want totally over the top sillyness and multiplayer, Cause wins if you want to play a james bond style story. Personally suggest buy em both :p they both are amongst the best examples of sandbox action games out on PC...

Thanks everyone, dunno when I'll have time to play but you've convinced me I should buy at this price. Now first I have a dilemma as Highway mentions to DLC or not to DLC?
#14
Thanks OP. Been waiting for this to drop so have just opened my wallet and it's now downloading.
BTW, just come back from GAME in Camberley and I noticed they were selling Bioshock 1 for the PC for 98p! Don't know if this is nationwide or not. I guess most gamers already have it but if you haven't, 98p is an unbelievably low price for such a brilliant game.

Thanks OP, cant go wrong for £2.49 (although as above, to DLC or not to DLC will be a tough call :P)

p.s heat could be just for OPs picture, he just blue himself...
#16
Went without the DLC as I'm tight, plus I can buy a kebab tonight with the money saved. Game is downloading via Steam thanks everyone.
#17
Great game. Well worth the price many times over
#18
Great game easily worth £2.49
#19
Whoa! A definite buy at that price. Nice one!
#20
A great game, well worth it at this price if you don't have it
#21

It's actually cheaper to buy the standard edition and all the DLC separately
Having said that, the Black Market Aerial Pack is the only one that sounds particularly useful or interesting anyway.
#23
Would buy, but the gamer gate checkout system is annoying. I have no paypal of moneybookers!
Will wait for steam sale.
#24
Bought the complete one! For when I build my new system...
#25
42 minutes left to download, should i get the pizzas in?
#26
It's actually cheaper to buy everything separately than to buy the complete pack. It's something like £4.33 compared to £5
#27
Good game certainly worth £2.50 of anyone's money.

Looks really good on PC, and has bucket loads of content.

Only bad things I can say about the game are:

- Aircraft camera (not mouse controlled), & flight mechanics (too simplified)
- Vsync causes enormous mouse lag.
- The scenery objects will become repetitive after a while
- A little too easy.
- It's impossible to reach 100% completion. (99.97% is the maximum possible)
#28
So this gives you a Steam code right? I don't want to buy it if it does not...

Yes it does, I just copy and pasted it into Steam.

Wouldn't that get your keyboard/mouse greasy? oO
#31
Saints Row 3 vs Just Cause 2? Buy them both! Less than £10 for hours and hours of story/fun! Both very good games.
#32
Yeah your right. But I'm a slob. You should see the state of my PC Desk, spilt coke all over keyboard and its dried into some aweful mess that you can't clean, screen is covered in sneezes, mouse has sticky stuff on it, I found a few mouldy maltesers hiding behind one of the speakers the other night.

But you can't beet a good bit of pizza with a good game. Its like hot dogs you can't have the dog without the hot or the hot without the dog and they taste great together.

I ended up doing just that. Only got saints row from the deal the toher day and was going to pass on this but as you guys say, lot of game for 2.50. I will just walk to work instead of bus tomorrow. Or beg outside the chippy.

Cos the past food on your keyboard adds to the taste of pizza like some kinda gross Chinese wok? :| Sounds like kim and aggie would orgasm if they ever came round to yours. :D

Like they know it. Multiple times. 8 minutes left then I can blow stuff up.

Great game!! A LOT of game for £2.50 but don't be to surprised when you complete the main storyline in just a few hours.

Surf? Really, where?

Great game, lots of fun, if a little repetitive. Sky diving is so much fun and hijacking aeroplanes! Hot deal.

I meant sail, but thanks.

Actually you car 'surf' in this game.
