With more stunts, vehicles and weapons than ever before and an incredible overhauled grappling hook, Rico returns to action in Panau, an incredibly detailed and vast 1000 sq km game world of different climates and ultra-realistic weather effects.

In 'Just Cause 2', you can leap from your plane and skydive from 10,000 feet down into a tropical jungle, tear across an arid desert in a dune buggy or climb your way up a snowy mountain in a 4x4. The vast open-ended, unique gameplay is back, allowing you full freedom once again to free roam and explore the massive world of Panau and tackle your assignments however you want.

With a new and improved air, land and sea stunt system featuring Rico's notorious parachute and grappling hook, taken to incredible new extremes and a massive array of new vehicles featuring an advanced driving model, players can now pull off some of the finest action stunts ever seen in a video game in a truly massive and beautifully rendered environment.

Probably be more expensive in-store as with most hmv offers online they tend not to be as cheap in the shop

Heat added, though I won't be buying it.

Excellent price.

Logged 12hours on this in the last couple of days and its ace.
Only done about 7%. There is just so much fun to be had exploring that I have hardly touched any missions yet.
And there is so much variety with the way you can tackle various aspects of the game (dont want to give any spoilers) that the repetitiveness is minimal.

Easily 9/10 for me. Just a shame some of the cut scenes are abit bland ie the voice overs are abit crappy. Other than that though I've not come across any flaws. Maybe just maybe the island is too bid  Think the scale is something like 4 or 5 times that of the entire GTA san andreas map.

None taken. I am sure there will be people interested in the Limited Edition. Be my guest if you would like to post it. That is what we are here for to help others get a good deal.:p

I'm loving the demo so will probably purchase it.
No wonder AvP didn't have a single player demo; I would've never have bought it.
#18
Tis a great game, I put in about 40+ hours and was still only at 71%

I think its a really frustrating game, making you start missions from scratch everytime you die, and making you travel miles each time just to get to the start of the mission.
Control system is very clunky too, not smooth like Crackdown or even prototype.
I suppose if you think games like Saboteur are good you will probably love it, but I prefer my games a lot more polished.

what are the chamces of this game going cheaper before before end of may.
#21
For some reason my HMV (Chelmsford) had the PS3 version for £19.99 but the Xbox 360 version was £29.99)!

I found the grapple hook system really frustrating. I got fed up with it in the end. The amount of times I got stuck under a ledge it was a miracle the controller did not get thrown across the room!

To be fair, I think starting at the start of a mission after dying is right. Its how the older gen games used to be. This gen in some games you can run round a corner and a checkpoint is reached/auto saving. Kind of takes all purpose away from a game if you actually have to be alert and careful knowing that if you die the entire mission will restart.

After the first strong hold I did I got the extraction tool from the black market. Ok you can only be extracted to certain locations you have found/taken over so get extracted to the nearest point to the mission you want to start.

The only clunkyness I came across regarding the control system was toggle on/off for crouching. Pretty much played COD for the last god knows how many years all with the same control scheme so this took an hour or so to get used to and learn the various aspects of the grapple/parachute and using them to your advantage, stunt jumping from car to car, gappling 2 items - enemy guard to a gas canister and shooting the canister is always amusing or, grappling an enemy to the boot of the car and taking him for a ride :)

I agree the control scheme isnt something you can pick up and play instantly knowing how to do everything but if you get to grips with it it can be very rewarding.

I suppose if you think games like Saboteur are good you will probably love it, but I prefer my games a lot more polished.

IMO i think the only polishing that needs to be done is within the cut scenes as some of the voice overs are terrible.
I guess your standards are alot higher than mine as I seem to like un-polished games but struggle to find anything too serious critisise this game on other than the cut scene issue.

The amount of times I got stuck under a ledge it was a miracle the controller did not get thrown across the room!

Not quite sure how you are getting stuck to under a ledge but 1 thing I didnt realise that helped was that if you are grappled to a building and want to climb higher you do not have to aim the grapple higher, just press L1 (ps3 grapple button) and he'll shoot automatically higher. Once near the top of the building/bridge press X for him to jump on top.

This is also happening to me all the time, for instance if you grapple a guard tower, if you dont have the cross hair perfect (which in the middle of heated battle and your dying is quite hard) you attatch underneath instead of the side of the crows nest. So you dangle like a hanging man for all to take pot shots, and its then impossible to jump inside for cover.

You also have to grapple wayyy too much because his jump is useless a 3 year old would get more height.

Sorry bud not really much to help out with there, 9/10 times wherever you aim you will go so if you're aiming/shooting the grapple hook in the wrong place in the heat of the moment its not really the games fault no :?

Had to edit the title to Xbox 360 only as the PS3 version has leapt up to £39.99 for some reason. Hopefully a few people picked up the PS3 version at £24.99
