Well, I'm guessing people who like the Just William stories. Which amounts to quite a few people.

I hate it when people post snooty comments like that because they don't happen to like to item being offering at a bargain price. Even if you think Just William is a pile of ****, there's little doubt that this is a great deal and should be voted hot.

I am. Thanks heat/rep given, bargain price!

I'm not sure in which reality this was ever £150. Maybe in DFS land....

Have you EVER listened to one????

Voted HOT HOT HOT!!! i bought my son the audio cassettes when he was little and I could hear the laughter from his room with the door shut. The stories are so hilariously silly and Martin Jarvis is fantastic at reading them and doing the voices. If you have a child, or are an adult like me that enjoys innocent hilarity, these are brilliant!

Big fan of Just William but then I first read the books when their world wasn't quite so alien. I've never been able to interest my sons in the books.

So maybe it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but at 64p per CD it's pretty good value! Hot from me!

I assume these are kids stories? It strikes me as a shame that someone would purchase such a large quantity of audio books when in my opinion, children should be encouraged to read by example from their parents. There is no excuse in my opinion.

I haven't voted cold but in my opinion it was originally overpriced by £100 anyway so I guess not a bad deal.

A lot of kids learn to read by listening to the audiobook while reading their book.

I grew up with things like this - http://www.readalongadventures.com/list.htm

I suppose you feel there's no excuse for Jackanory either?

Also on long car journeys kids aged 12 and under are more susceptible to travel sickness especially when reading. With these you can chuck on the talking book for the car journey.

Before you fire off your letter to the Daily Mail - why not think about what you're going to type before you post it?

Oh - one final thing ... blind adults and kids love 'em. Much cheaper than Braile editions which cost an absolute fortune.

You sir are a fool. I like in a family of 4, and everyone here wants to listen to them.

Heat and rep added. :D

My parents love these stories (and me) to listen to while were in bed, audio books are never a substitute for reading, its a totally diffrent ball game

ok fair point made to all above, and yes my own daughter has listened to short story books many times (mainly newspaper freebees my other half brings back from work) and she loves Jackanory, although neither holds her attention like a book does.

I can see lots of parents (not necessarily here) sending their kids to bed with a cd player though

Excellent...used to read these as a kid and I know my Mum likes them too, especially audio books. Christmas shopping starts now...lol

Fantastic! Having loved these books as a child, I downloaded some of these recordings from audible and we've (two adults, two kids) been hooked on them for car journeys for the past year or so. Martin Jarvis is a perfect fit, and William's catchphrases have become my kids'.

Re book vs audio daftness, there is no vs. Having old, rather rare copies of the Wiliam books, I snatched up one of the fiver sets from TBP. My daughter has been working her way through them; she 's told me that she wouldn't have thought of reading any of them if she hadn't heard some of the stories on audio first, and enjoyed them so much.

Heat and ordered. Thanks!

It always amazes me that people can't spot a troll like this pr*ck.
Check out his postings he you want further evidence, then ignore him, don't feed him.

Don't feed the trolls...
Great deal - we bought the Beatrix Potter set at the beginning of the year, which my sons still adore.

Ladies and gents, I think you are being a bit unfair on aberfal. He just hasnt finished his sentence. Chortle.

Not worth £150, but most definitely a hot deal. My parents love these stories, and I can understand why.
