Not 100% sure that is the 155 model as the 155 appears to have 32x zoom...according to JVC.

More likely the 130 model. Although the Currys specs say 1.07 Megapixel CCD, whereas the 130 only has 800K.

Conflicting details or a hybrid for the DSG group?

Great price, went for the Empire Direct deal last week but may have to return that and save £20 and get this slightly better model!

Edit - Grrr looks like I won't be able to cancel my EmpireDirect order :(

Cant see where it says you get the docking station though, but its not really required.

might be worth changing the post title to HDD camera. Thought it was an actual HD camera going for £200 :w00t:
Voted hot nonetheless as still a great deal.

edit only seems to take off the £30 cashback plus 5%!!

Yes I thought it was a HD model as well.

Was wondering what you guys thought of this model:

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1949991268.1189213084@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccffaddlmehjlgfcflgceggdhhmdgmk.0&page=Product&sku=537714

It's the Sony DVD one with better Optical zoom but I don't know much about image quality. It is also £30 cheaper.

I thought this model might be better ?

It has only 15X op zoom but has a bigger CCD of 1.33 which I thought was more important - also it is cheaper ?

Any thoughts ?

It's not HD (Hi-Definition) it's HDD (Hard Disk Drive) please change title as it is misleading.
#9
Also looked on basis of this being high def. please change title as it is misleading :?

I would go for a hard drive one over DVD m8

OK lets confuse people some more , looks like Currys have made a mistake on the spec

Think i will have to go instore and investigate

how do you get it too £200.84 , mines coming out at £242 .99
#13
same here... can't get it down to 200.xx or 192.xx as posted by another member.

also has anybody used this or other camcorders from the jvc comparision page, the reviews haven't been anywhere near glowing (even at this price).

Also can anybody tell me why this deal is better than this one ??

Anyone have a link to the manual.

I am after battery times, and the various recording-quality.
And these take SD cards which is cool.

Hi All,

Does anyone have the measurements for this camera (is it a small one?).

PC World, Currys and Dixons have no measurements and I can`t find it on the JVC site.

Thanks alot,

Keith

I've seen one sometime ago, to me it looks more pleasing with a rectangular shape rather than a rounded one... and fits comfortably in the palm.

Do check up with some1 for quality though, I want to get one but not sure abt the quality on these as one of the reviews, back in the day, thrashed it for video quality. (can't find any link to it now though)

Discount code only works for home delivery only... not reserve & collect

my dad bought a jvc hdd recorder about 8 months ago, but sent it back. i used it and we compared his old vhsc to it and the picture quality was less than half the vhsc. colours were not accurate, detail was missing, dark generally. if your looking for a better camcorder than you have then best get some reviews.

Delivery works, just checked

Don't think it's the GZ-MG130 as I saw it in currys today priced at £299.99 not the £329.89 quoted on the website as the instore price

Anyhow it comes with a light so can't be the 130 also the CCD is quoted as 1.07 MegaPixel not the 680k pixel CCD of the 130.

It also does not come with the dock which is just a dvd re-writer without the need for a pc but at £150 you might as well buy a pc if you haven't got one!

see table below, looks like the 132 has a light but everything else is the same as the 130

HDD cameras compress the footage to fit on the hard drive as do the DVD cameras, I believe the SD slot is only for taking 1 megapixel photos. I bought a miniDV camera for this reason as I prefer to edit out all the **** that gets in the way. 2hrs of holiday tape isn't fun to watch after all.

When I had a fiddle in the local currys (don't start) there was an option to either record video to hd or sd card and this sold it to me! No it didn't what am I talking about as I had already purchased it online LOL.

Mines arrived, its quite small and very light, confirmed as 800k in the manual , not sure if im gonna keep it or go for one of the Panny ones.

I picked mine up due to missed delivery yesterday which was a 30 mile round trip to Borehamwood! Just opened the brown box to find the camcorder box already opened the white protector on the camera opened and a dusty camcorder inside! I didn't see anywhere on the currys website about being second hand!!!!

not sure if I'll be keeping mine too!
#28
Mine was brand new & sealed m8, i would complain

I did as it's my daughters 4th B'day tomorrow hence the 30 mile round trip as DHL weren't going to re-deliver until tomorrow. No compensation and they told me to take it in to a store for exchange - so one hr on the phone being banded about on a 0870 number. The manager told me that I could use the camera and then send it back after going to boots with the hd so they could print the film LOL!

Just to ask those that got theirs new was the camera neatly in the white bag or was the white bag scruntched up, was there a seal on the box before opening, was there any film over the lcd display and lastly was the camera lens protector in the open position with dust on it?
#32
Mine had a security seal on the box which was unbroken , camcorder was in a white bag , no protective film on the LCD, it was new and unused.

Cant remember if the lens cover was open or not :-(

thanks deanos for the info - def been opened then. Just a shame the cs staff weren't more helpful considering.

#35

#36
