A bit of info for potential purchasers....my 10 year old son (at the time) found this hard so myself and amother adult spent hours assembling this. The end result wasn't that impressive...it's building the thing that is the point in this. The roller coaster seems to get stuck....the odd time it does a circuit without having to assist it. For me, it was pointless buying something I had to assemble so my son could only look at it.
If your kid is more determined than mine, maybe they'll have fun building it, but after building there's nothing to 'play' with.

completely agree with you. there are so many areas that constantly need tweaking to get a full circuit done without it catching or getting stuck. frankly it sucks! but its good for parts to make other things.

eh? ive done this set with my 7 year old - as long as you break it down into sections (like the instructions do) and watch what they are up to its not that bad
edit: oopd... was star shooter, looks similar
