Thought i'd find what else i could get for my shiny new K800i, just unlocked!
Looked through my 2nd favourite website and found the following:
Leather Case (Fits K800) SKU 6751 $3.25
BST-33 Lithium Polymer Battery SKU 8459 $4.34
Screen Protector for K800 SKU 6673 $1.40
Crystal Case for Sony K800 SKU 2229 $1.64
3.5mm Handsfree Adapter Cable SKU 7099 $1.52

Total $12.15 USD or £6.16 delivered the lot. Of course you don't have to buy them all. Just have to wait 1-2 weeks now...

If you have not used dealextreme before, I have bought a fair amount from these guys lately, nothing but good experience so far, although it does demand patience for 1-2 weeks (sometimes more) while things ship. I pay in dollars through paypal because nationwide charge very good exchange rates with no fee. You will probably just want to let paypal convert to sterling for you.

I Think of it as Fleabay without the shipping costs.
To find the items insert the 4 digit SKU into the dealextreme homepage search box.

While your there...I highly recommend
LED flashlight: SKU 3609,
keychain LED: SKU 1100,
Best of all FM Transmitter : SKU 625 which combined with usb adapter SKU 745 and cable extendion SKU: 5157 is awesome. It plugs into my computer sound output and broadcasts it all over the house in FM stereo. Sound quality is excellent. Really.

It draws power from the computer USB (no batteries needed), and the extension cable plus a spare usb extension cable (eg SKU 2510) moves the transmitter an extra metre from the electromagnetic noise at the back of the computer and improves the sound. (gets rid of a hum). Then i can listen to itunes or Radio 4 listen again in every room in the house, the good quality signal extends a little beyond where WIFI gives up. (including my new k800i which has the radio of course!!!)

Oh and 1gb M2 memory for £8.99 at play.com of course.

not really much of a find everything on the site is cheap ive used this site for plenty of things and everything works that i have bought. Although not great find at least other people will find out about the site as its a great site only downside is the delivery which can take up to 2-3 weeks (i guess can cut some slack though because its free).

I had a crystal case for my K800 and had to dump it. When taking photos it reflected the flash back into the lens. Removing the case to take photos led the catches to break. Frankly they're unnecessary anyway, I've been carrying my 800 about in my pocket for a year and it's still in great nick.

Oh well, the spare battery, leather case and screen protector are the main things for me.

What is it about the British and their 'cases'? Or am I wrong and do other nationalities also suffer the inexplicable need to cover everything from cameras to phones to binoculars in cases? A few years ago a friend of mine bought a Motorola V66 mobile when they were VERY expensive and one of the smallest phones on the market. He bought the dammed thing because of its size and paid at least three times the price of an equivalent phone for the size advantage; but the first thing he did when he got it was to go out and buy a bloody case for the thing that added a third to its size!

You mean you don;t have one of those nice button-over cases for your keys? Nor a little purse for your loose change? You certainly live on the edge. But at least your grandchildren don't have to worry about inheriting a scratched mobile phone.....that's the main thing! ;-)

British and their cases!???.. Im pretty sure its not just us British and youre right, other 'nationalities' probably do want to protect their phones!

Maybe your friend bought a case bcos his phone was so expensive, that ever cross your mind!?

Bit of a bizarre post there:?

They couldn't be done when they first came out, but they've been unlockable for some time now. I've half a Dozen this week myself. It takes about 10 minutes to do and any reasonable phone shop should be able to do it for you.

I wish they would sell a reasonably priced dock for this phone :(

I know exactly what you mean. My friend bought a very expensive phone because it was very stylish, but then proceeded to be a leather case that covered the phone. His reasoning was to keep it looking nice and in good condition, but what is the point if u aint showing it off?!! Good post, the whole "case" thing always grinds my gears as well

Fantastic post.

For £14, got the following:
iPod travel charger (official one)
iPod Touch leather case
iPod Touch Screen protector
Spare iPod USB cable
Micro M2 memory adapter
K800i case
K800i screen protector

Saved me having to buy these of Ebay and pay the ridiculous postage charges.

Some of the items listed in the original post don't come up as specific for the k800i - how do you know they will work with them?

I take you only use Paypal to pay with your Nationwide Debit Card? - I presume this is the cheapest way?
#19
If you read the item feedback on dealextreme you can find out a lot. For the leather case, 2 people mention they bought it for a k800 and that it fits perfectly. The battery is the same number as on my battery.

ultimately you pay pittance and keep your fingers crossed. Has worked so far for me from these guys.

Nationwide debit card, payed in US dollars is cheaper than using paypal to convert currency. Most other cards will be cheaper to let paypal exchange the currency as you may pay a fee for overseas currency. If in doubt use paypal to exchange.

Free shipping!!!

There is loads on here I might get

Damn all ready ordered before saw your trick of paying in US dollars - maybe next time

Tempted by the clear case. Is it hard plastic or soft? Would prefer soft plastic if they do that.
#22
just to report that i have received all the items, which I orded the same day as i posted the deal. (10 days ago)

I would order them all again except the clear case. Given the screen protector and leather case, i don't think i will use it. fits fine though, and cheap as chips,

Battery is the correct one, leather case fits, although the camera bulge is not 'perfect'.

hope anyone else who ordered is happy too!
