Hot if you can find one.

There was one left in Solihull. As I already have one from ages ago, it's still there! They're a bit big, but fantastic remote nonetheless.

If this is anything like the other kameleons I've used then you have to select each device to use their functions unlike the harmony remotes which at a press of a button turn on your tv, surround sound set top box and set them all to the correct inputs and then have volume control the amp channels control the settop box and other functions like picture control the tv without having to constantly switch between devices.

Basically I'm saying a harmony remote is better in my opinion so although this is a good price I wouldn't want one.

It makes perfect sense. Prices that end in .97 at Comet are national clearance items - basically they don't have any left in the country besides one or two in perhaps a handful of stores. Your chance of finding one is next to nothing.

Your comment however, makes no sense at all. Basically, you think that just because you didn't understand, it is rubbish? Rather than just your own ignorance?

I've got one - and it works OK but its chucked in a drawer and replaced by a Harmony 525 remote that is in a different league. Save your money and put it towards a Harmony.....
#10
Don't worry too much about not getting one, probably only of £15 -20 value anyway, but like the last poster says, Harmony remotes are far better and can be programmed to work virtually anything, I wouldn''t part with mine, great RC. :)

Except this deal ends in .57 and not .97.

AFAIK the 'one off' pricing is only when it ends in .97...

That aside, I would personally pay a few extra quid and get a Harmony.

This remote is terrible. I bought a harmony to replace it as it was so frustrating.
Save your money - you have been warned.

To be fair, if you have to have an "ordinary" one for all remote and not a harmony, this particular model is OK.

It has one big strength and one big weakness...

1) They can be upgraded with any new devices from the internet, (which most one-for-all remotes can't) so it won't go out of date and you can use it for new devices.

2) This one doesn't have a "macro" function, so you can't programme multiple functions onto the same button - some of the one-for-all remotes have four extra spare buttons that you can programme with macros or with any other obscure function that is on your original remote but not on the main remote button panel...

However as a basic remote to replace multiple ordinary remotes, it does a reasonable job for the price...
#18
I'm surprised re 2) as my One for All URC8305 has both a macro and a learning feature. It's also 'glad' in metal rather than all plastic.
You can also have two functions on the same 'button' and a volume 'punch through' so the volume control always use you amp volume rather than the device's volume.
#19
The 8308 DOES have four macro buttons at the bottom of the remote (in roman numerals) where each can be programmed up with a series of remote commands e.g. to switch on/off multiple devices etc.
