anyone know the length of warranty on karcher products as I must get through one of these every 2 summers as they seem very unreliable.

It should only be 12 months, but if you want peace of mind why dont you go for the 3 year replacement cover for £9.99.

Aparently if you are paying instore there is a box at the bottom that you can tick to make a donation to charity, I think it was 20p, this then qualifies for the free voucher :)

nice one! Think its well worth paying for the warranty in this rare instance as I do lend the washers out to loads of people.

All electrical goods in the UK carry standard 2 yr warranty regardless of what anyone says about 12 months being the norm .

I thought that was an EU ruling that the UK opted out of.

And yes, I am aware of SOGA.

Just a quick note about the extended argos warranty, when you reserve on line it is showing the warranty as costing £15.99 not £9.99 as it is using the original selling price not the discounted one. Not sure about in store.

true, but not if you buy the wrong warranty as they are different product codes!

Dont know about how good the pressure washer is itself, but at this price it is a great buy as it comes with all thoses attatchments.

I already have an ALDI Powercraft 2.1kW pressure washer but i need a new hose and attatchments, does anyone know if these Karcher ones will be suitable to use on the Powercraft?

Cheers

As the price of the washer has been reduced you should be able to purchase the cover at £9.99, obviously you will only get vouchers up to £50.00 if argos cannot provide a replacement of a similar or higher spec, within the 3 year period, that is if your jetwash fails........... or if you ACCIDENTLY break it lol

Can you do this;

Buy the washer and add 20p to charity (can someone please explain how we do this and whether it works),

then obtain the £5 voucher and,

buy the warranty as a separate item and use the £5 off it making the total £54.98.
Having not owned one of these things, can anyone advise me on how reliable they are. This model in particular as I'm unsure if it worth paying out for the extended warranty?
. Thanks everybod!!:)

Perfect xmas present, thanks :)

I'll not bother with the warranty though since it's 20% of the value.

Reserved last one locally. Lots of very positive reviews for this machine too.

Thanks for this just bagged one from my local store.

Just reserved one,

Reserved mine now, i want to ask how does this connect to your water?

i.e. I dont have those traditional garden taps, can this is connected to the kitchen/toilet sink taps, or would i require additional accessories not already included?

Cheers!

just picked up the last one in Lakeside. :-)

HOWEVER - the adding 20p to charity thing did NOT work for me. The woman said that it is only on purchases of 50 and over... My voucher ended up being a printed out one on the bottom of the receipt so I guess it is system decided rather than till operative...... So surely it should either be allowed or not, by policy and if the system CAN give it, then why shouldn't we all be able to get it!

I ended up adding buy one get one free Chocolate Orange things that were near the tills... I would have bought them else where anyway..

That sounds like a plan, and from the Argos website it appears it houldn't be an issue:

Replacement product cover can be brought on products purchased online and in store within 45 days of purchasing the product you wish to cover providing the product is still in good working order. If you are purchasing Replacement product cover in-store at a later date (within 45 days of purchasing the product) you will need to bring the item and the receipt(s) back into store.

HTH,

Hmm, post #27 suggests it does not work, but we cannot be certain as it is system generated and how can the woman on the till know if the 20p would make the system add the voucher (or not).

It may be an idea to say to the staff, please put the 20p on and see if I get a voucher - if I don't then please add this (cheapo item) to the bill,

Now I just need to find the absolute cheapest item that Argoose sell.

If worried about the charity thing it's worth reserving:

£0.79 deicer http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7403442.html

£1 bulb www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4301224.htm

£1.15 toy cars www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3874958.htm

Just in case :-D

Anything cheaper? Let us know! :santa:

You can never have enough De-Icer in this country.

And it saves the charity argument, effective price is of course 20p less so I would be spending 59p more and I get some de-icer for it, sounds OK.

No doubt this is a good price for a Karcher brand washer so hot deal on that basis, especially with those expensive accessories. However, I'd just caution any 'first time buyers' about what can be expected of it. Having owned several pressure washers (none of them seems to last very long) these smaller ones really don't have the power to do much of a job. They're handy for boosting your water pressure a bit but don't expect to have a sparkling clean patio in 30 mins!

Make sure you store them somewhere frost safe too - leave it in your shed over winter and it'll probably be ruined by the spring.

you will need extra parts. best bet is to fit an outside tap. kits are around a tenner and pretty easy (ish) to fit.

Not true, I have this model and it is very powerful, the wife bought ours and I was very sceptical about the T racer especially. it is fantastic and gets the block paving back to new looking fairly quickly and with little mess. All the other attachments give the usual variety of sprays but are more than powerful enough for any application.

Can't comment on the reliability though.
#34
Just for info - note this has a 'Universal' motor, in other words a bit like the one in a washing machine with carbon brushes. These motors have a limited life as the brushes wear out, and for a pressure washer used for long periods of time that could be surprisingly soon (hence the failures after a couple of summers).

For domestic use it should be fine, if a little noisy - I don't know what its lifespan will be, nor whether the brushes are replaceable - just something to think about.

Go a bit further up the range and you get an 'induction' motor, which is much heavier duty and designed for prolonged use.

That doesn't mean this is a bad buy - but if you see one with an induction motor for this sort of price grab it!

@RiCh - I think compatibility with Aldi kit was discussed on MSE and someone said the Powercraft machines are made by Karcher.
#35
I just reserved one.
#36
I know that these accessories will fit the ALDI Powercraft its just a case of easily swapping them over, but i just want to make sure that they will be compatible power wise, as the Powercraft has a 2.1kW motor and is 150 bar max, obviously this Karcher is less powerful at 1.3kW and 100 bar max, so the accessories may be designed to match this power rating.

Can anyone who has bought one and has opened it, check for me what max bar figure it says on the gun and accessories.

Thanks

yes they will because the accessories themselves are not limited to any power rating, you get the same lance, dirtbuster, patio cleaner etc even if you get the most powerful karcher model. so they should work with all reasonable power models...........obviously wont if you have one of those industrial size 1000bar washers lol

hope that helps :)
