might be cos hes a SKUNK ;-)

I wouldn't expect these to very good quality. As with other respected brands Mike Ashley (the owner of Sports Direct) has bought Karrimor and made cheap goods for his shop that aren't up to the standards that the brand is/was known for.

I agree about the poor quality stuff with Karrimor badging. Best check with karrimor.co.uk first to make sure it is the real thing.
#7
Was in Sports Direct last week looking at the Karrimor stuff and as suggested here it really is poor quality.

Cold. Original prices are meaningless and the last pair I bought from Sportworld the soles wore through in 6 months of light use. Try instore in Blacks or Millets for deals on pukka Karrimor.

They got loads of nice russell athletic stuff today. Hooded tops in many different styles and colours, jogging pannt aswell
#10
this always the price and won't ever change unless it goes cheaper. So this is not a deal this I have voted cold
#11
none of this would have sold for the rrp, everythink i've bourght from sports direct has been really naf, including those karrimor shoes which only lasted 5 months with light use

Voted cold. This Karrimor has nothing to do with the Karrimor of old when a pair of KSB 3's would last forever and a Jaguar IV was the must have rucksac. Mine is now 26 years old and still going strong!

My wife wanted to try some ski wear stuff as she works outside in the cold, wind and rain. Normall stuff is to dear as she just wants to try it - so this stuff doesn't seem bad. I know you get what you pay for, but she's not going to the artic, so we think worth a try

Some interesting comments regarding the quality issue of these products.Millets and blacks are still selling karrimor goods i have noticed.
Surely sportsdirect can't be selling a product that looks exactly the same but is of poorer quality than its rival shops???
Trading standards should act now if this is true as the sportsdirect prices clearley show the rrp(vastly increased).
Makes me wonder however as i bought some reebok classics from said shop and the sole came away in no time whatsoever...but this is the uk,rules must be in place to stop this sort of thing happening, surely!!!

"The brand went into receivership in 2004. Within 24 hours it was bought out by Lonsdale Sports, who broke up the company, selling the outlets and retaining only the rights to the name, which was licensed to such events as the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon.
Sports Direct now sell Karrimor branded products across all their UK stores.!" - answers.com

So I guess anyone can make Karrimor products if they pay the licence fee. I personally know the person who has purchased the license rights for Levi's and associated brand names in Taiwan and it's all locally designed/produced to meet the local market requirements. With regards to Karrimor the stuff in Blacks, Millets, etc is of a higher quality than that found in SW, so either they produce 2 qualities or a seperate company is involved.

Nothing suprises me were mike ashley is concerned,he is a greedy man who exploits everything he comes into contact with, and as a newcastle fan i should know.
You only have to look at his shops to see he treats his workers like dogs,if true its shocking that they can sell low quality products with "brand" badging on.
How come this isn't more well known to the general public as people are being conned.
Newcastle fans now boycott his shops,i think everyone else should follow suit.
