I was looking for a decent pair of walking boots last Sunday, which were similar quality to these but three times the price. You've just saved me 50 quid. Nice One!
#7
Good price, thanks.

Just what I was looking for, thanks. Heated

Just a warning, Karrimor today may not be the quality brand they were in the past.

They were bought out a few years ago by Sports Direct, who've made a business of buying smaller respected brands and then sticking their names on cheap crap.

That said, I've got a rucksack from Karrimor/SportsDirect and it's not bad. Lasts about as long as those from more expensive brands (Puma, Nike etc).

Info was gleaned from wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karrimor

I have woke up now lol!!

Agreed, they're not the reputable brand they once were....that said the only thing i've bought since SportDirect took them over was a rucksack and it's brilliant quality, so for the price you can't really go wrong just as long as people are aware

cheers.

Although, I just bought a few things totalling £50.16 but quidco has only tracked as £43 as the amount spent.
Hopefully it will sort itself out and I get the extra £5.

Actual price delivered is £22.67

No idea why this is expired,i've reported it and asked for it to be unexpired.

Are you not contradicting yourself here?

You're right, it's not the company it once was but if your rucksack is "brilliant quality" what's the issue?

Similar are £25-£30 in the shops (waterproof ones) so this is a good deal - hot!

for the last 4 years or so I've been buying karimors and I swear its the best make Ive bought so far...comfy STRAIGHT away..last ages!!!!!! I'm kinda like a Karimmor junkie!!! Voted hot!!!!!

No size 11 but still hot from me.
#22
OP needs to add P&P onto the price :whistling:
#23
What are their returns like? My fear is that they might be not quite the right size, always a concern when buying off the net. :)
#24
#25
M&M are fine for returns, you just have to cough up the postage. Shame there are no sizes other than 7,8 & 9
#26
Guys,

These are simply superb for the price - I bought a pair a fortnight ago and they fit like gloves from day one, no rubbing, blisters or any of that nonsense just superb lightweight comfortable walking boots.

OK You're not going up Everest in them but anything up to the most challenging of walks in the UK and they'll be fine.
#27
Only size 7 and 8 left (may be worthwhile mentioning in the OP)

And what Brands are you basing that statement against? Trespass? High Street Brands?:whistling:

For £20 odd quid your getting a Nice Pair of Boots for walking the Dog or Easy Walking but dont expect them to last if you intent to do anything more serious. They are defo not the Brand they once where and are actually worse than Tresspass and the like. If your looking for quality go for something like Scarpa, Meindl, or Brasher.

More info on their brands here. Would have gone for these but my size is out of stock.

Don't Sports Direct sell these sort of boots? It might be worth paying a visit there if you have one nearby.

Trust me, these are not decent. You would be better investing in a good pair of boots in the long run.

But they're walking boots ;-)
#34
Could invest in a £60 - £80 pair, however, for this price you could 3 - 4 pairs of these.

For people who just need them for camping and some walking these will do fine. People who are "hardcore" will already know what theyre looking for and what brand they want and pay for it.

Yes, you could buy a pair for £60-£80 (in a sale) however, they will be made of beter materials and will break-in to your feet making them comfortable for years to come. By the time these have got to there break in point it will be time bo go buy another pair and I dount they will be at this price as there seems to be a few gullible people buying them.

Saying that, maybe they will have realised what they ahve bought and the price would have droped even further!:-D
#36
Can they be bought at Sports Direct stores? I've had a similar pair previously, lasted ok but soles were a bit soft. Cost £21 as I recall.

So youve bought this exact pair of shoes and can categorically say they will not last? Strange that theyre rated rather well on amazon. Time will tell I guess, but for the amount I will wear these as I dont live in the bush they will probably last a few years.

As others have said, the brand is not what it was, although the rucksacks are still rated.
I bought a pair of Karimore trainers about 2 years ago, and although the quality seemed fine, there was something very odd about the fit. The insole was slighlty raised at the back, which meant that my feet tended to slide forward, causing really bad blisters on the ball of my foot, just behind the toes. This has never happened with any other footware I've used. The insole also seemed to made of some odd material that caused excessive sweating and reacted with the sweat to create an even worse smell. Again something that I do not usually have a problem with.
For me anyway, I wouldn't buy Karimore again.

Would you buy Karrimor instead :-D

Only size 7 left now so deal has effectively expired itself for all but the small-footed amongst us.
