Laughable RRP.... Since this brand was bought by sports direct I wouldn't touch them, even though they may be good boots you'll get no respect from fellow ramblers....

I agree with your RRP comment but they are good for entry level at this price.

Is it just a kudos with other ramblers thing - why would you care what they think of your footwear - or is the boot of a poor quality? I was thinking more for winter footwear than impressing the ramblers Association?

I posted this in a previous thread but I'll say it again.. I recently bought a pair of Karrimor and they fell apart after about 4 or 5 wears - only town and stuff - and they were very similar to these ones.

I wouldn't touch another pair of Karrimor's even at this price.

Enough said thank you :)

bargain at this price for beginners, hot from me.

I'd agree with the comments about Field and Trek/Sports Direct Customer Service, I've had a run in with them myself - fortunately Petzl and Lyon sorted me out in that case. I must admit I wasn't aware that Karrimor was now part of that group. I had a pair of their goretex boots years ago and they were pretty decent.

And the RRP is obviously silly, *but* for a cheap pair of walking shoes £18 does seem rather cheap to me hence worth posting.

It is if the idea is to put them off walking for life when they get back from a trek with soaking wet feet & blisters so you can avoid having to pay a reasonable amount for decent gear which is up to the task ;)

As said above, any quality that used to be associated with Karrimor branded items has now gone, and you should expect no more from these than you would from a pair of no-brand boots bought off a market stall.

My point is they know their boots, if they don't like then it's because they're crap, nothing to do with brands etc.... I'd avoid like the plague....

It is a good price for boots, just a shame they're karrimore... Check out argos outlet on ebay, I got some regatta boots from there for £10 for the mrs, I also got my north face boots for £45 from blacks in their sale... better buys if you look around....

Good price for a beginner boot, as other people have said Sports Direct have ruined the brand in the same way they have with a few others. For casual hiking these boots will do just fine.

Sports Direct have also ruined, Umbro, YSL, Airwalk, Kangol, Lonsdale, Everlast

They're just a destroyer of brands.....

Don't even think about returning anything, if bought online, you won't get postage refunded, you'll get charged handling and re-stocking fee and then only get given a credit note... They're a joke

Well, my wife ordered a pair and to be fair the boots seem OK quality wise.

Shame they sent the wrong size...

Rambler snobs?? serious? whatever next! ive had a pair of karrimor shoes for about a year now, wear them every day, very comfortable and still lots of wear in them, and ive been known to wear out shoes pretty quick.

I have to agree with some of the other posters. If you plan on doing some Hill Walking avoid these like the Plague. You get what you pay for and with these you sure do! If you want to keep your feet warm and dry this winter, regardless if its Rambling in the Mountains or to Tesco's spend the money and get something that will do the job.

Sale still on here and picked up a £6 pair of Head walking boots / shoes for Mrs PE and the above Karrimor ones for myself which are still £18 + P&P. I was also guessing the RP was a joke but even at half that this is still an excellent deal and they get some reasonable reviews on Amazon. Will see how they go once 'proofed

At those prices happy to be proved wrong but they won't be used too much in anger!

PS had to chuckle at getting laughed at by other ramblers - is nowhere in modern Uk free from brand snobbery!!!
