It is Kaspersky Antivirus not Internet Security!

it is cheaper on ebay from top seller. Cold from me.

it is a top rated seller with 99.99 % positive feedback. I bought my KIS from there and it arrived in 2 days, CD+User manual all sealed. I upgraded to 2011 and I had absolutely no problem with activation. If you buy from ebay you can activate the program and if it is a fake it will be blacklisted... you can contact the seller and if you don't manage to sort it out you will get your money bag from PayPal...

In this case the software is around 7 pounds which means it is 30 % cheaper ...

whats better this or internet security version?

After using various antivirus software for years at work and home my conclusion is all you need is MS security essentials + windows firewall + malwarebytes (and a few other malware scanners) + firefox with adblock plus + backup, and not to download suspecious software from untrusted websites. You don't need a heavyweight like Kaspersky which almost certainly will slow your computer and become annoying and cumbersome at times, especially if you're a home user.

I actually bought Kaspersky two years ago from Amazon on a similar deal, but removed it after six months of use. Ironically, the main reason I got rid of it was because of a malware (poping up fake antivirus warning) it couldn't detect but MS security essential (or Malwarebytes I can't remember exactly) did.

BTW, everytime I got caught by a virus/malware (probably three or four times in the last 7, 8 years? I've got three laptops and 4 desktops at home during that time), I would normally reinstall the whole system regardless if it could be removed or not. And I would recomend you do the same too.

why people actually pay for virus software i dont know
#15
Kaspersky is crap, i got mine free with barclays bank but its 2011, anyway it doesnt have the best detection nor can it deal with once the pc is effected. I uninstalled this crap because it couldn't deleted a virus and installed MSE, which found other viruses that Kaspersky didnt even detect

They sell 3 users and 3 computers, whats the difference?

3 users is for 3 logins on the same computer ?

There is no difference, ignore the descriptions on Amazon as it's for 3 PC's irrespective of whether it says user or pc.

Ta, I've bought a copy :)

Thanks but I've just I'll illegally downloaded a similar product instead

Well, do you really understand how processes and os work? The best way to spot a fake "expert" is when he/she shows you memory usage from the task manager.

The main factor in what slows your computer down is not the memory but the cpu usage.

Just play around with your files and browser and see how the cpu usage of Kaspersky shoots up the sky.

Who's talking rubbish?

This is indeed a hot deal, for the less experienced or those who can't be bothered with handling security on their own by making use of the freewares or those who simply have to have a paid antivirus/fireware software.

But for the more experienced, my personal expeirence tells me there's no need to pay for any such software.

I know enough to do a system baseline in system monitor with and without things like kaspersky and compare the difference, so I must be a fake expert (_;)

I've run kaspersky for 3+ years and run system monitor on my PC for a baseline then on and off since. At times of Kaspersky activity (such as full scans daily for me at 5am) its hardly anything. Actually a free program called rapport from RBS uses about four times as much and its only to detect your username and password going to a false page. I'm highly qualified in I.T and that claim is bs. If I hadn't done it for SQL I'd be posting a pic for you

p.s I'm actually offended at being called a fake expert, I hold A+, Network+, Linux+, LPI, MCP, MCSA, MCSE and working on just the one exam to become CCNA so i know a few things :3

I'm not sure how your IT qualification can make you an expert in everything in computing, especially considering how easy it is to get low level IT certificates. (being able to use some tool to generate data doesn't mean you really understand how to correctly interpret the data either, as shown in your own claim that memory usage decides performance)

But I do remember a guy who has been a technical IT consultant for years with various qualifications once got stuck with a non-functional text field in a client's browser for hours but couldn't figure out why, which turned out to be caused by disabled javascript setting and was spotted the second I heard of the problem.

However light Kaspersky may be, it wouldn't be lighter than MS security essentials, because it obviously does much more than the latter. But the problem is, an experienced and prudent user wouldn't need those extras which inevitably complicate the day to day operation of your computer, espcially when it has a cost which however cheap is not free.

Log into your Barclays online account and renew it through there, soon after you'll get you new key emailed to you from Kaspersky. The details you need are here.

You can then either use the key against your existing version of Kaspersky Internet Suite or download the 2011 version from here. You can if you choose just use it on your existing KiS 2010 and update the application at a later time, the key is valid for a year on 3 PC's whatever versions they are running.

Gotta say ive only had a bad experience, I am a self confessed geek and found Kaspersky horrible to use, not user friendly, and even I kept dropping off the network (and yes im hardwired?!) But its still a good price, im gunna give heat regardless cos its a good price, but just a heads up :)

Antivirus drama! Whoever said that AVG / Avast wasnt secure "enough" for their client machines is talking crap, they are both fine. And yes Kaspersky is an un-repentant resource hog, end of story.

I can't recommend Microsoft Security Essentials enough. I support at least a dozen friends and family's PCs and have taken to use this every time now. Download in a few minutes, installs in a few more and then runs quietly in the background doing its job. MSE really is the best option these days.

great deal.

£10.. for just the AV.. and it gets hot..

this place makes me laugh at times... do people not read the threads before they vote??

IF you really felt you needed to pay for protection the full suite of this generaly comes on at teh works for £5.. thats half price for a start..

then there is the FREE option at barclays bank.. £1 to open an account if you dont already have one or now anyone who does..
