I was walking past the window of The Works and noticed this at a great price of £7.99 that's less than a £1 a month for great protection. Obviously come with free updates to latest version and is retail packed.

I saw these last week in Barnstaple they had 1 user one mixed in with the 3 so check the box.

Voted Hot as its cheapest on High St, but don't forget you can get the 3 user Kaspersky Internet Security suite for free if you bank online with Barclays
#3
Kaspersky's are on version 9 now for around £13.28 (inc delivery).

Good price but dated anti virus software.

is that just current acocunts or does it include credit cards?
#5
version 7 ???!!!

... do you need Windows 3.1 to run this on? :whistling:
#6
Kaspersky is the best I've used, and this is an excellent price - and just the thing if you have multiple PCs.
#7
For anyone who is worried about compatability it states on the box "Certified for Windows Vista"

Dated anti virus software hence price. It's better to get the £13 deal stated above imo!

Applies to online banking only, see here for details

What a dissapointment!

I was certain by now someone would have banged the AVG/Avast drum by now. :whistling:

The program itself may be dated, but I believe the actual virus databases are still kept up to date by Kaspersky. I had this version before updating to Version 8 towards the end of last year. I can recommend both versions and at this price for 3 PCs it's a good deal IMHO.

But, the licence applies to latest version I believe, as stated in OP, so can ignore the boxed copy, its still a cheap license.

Wouldnt recommend ver 7 to anyone. On my laptop I have both vista and XP installed. On the vista I have Kaspersky ver 7 antivirus only and on the XP I have the Kaspersky internet security suite 2009. The antivirus takes about 8 hours to do a full scan of my laptop (250GB hard disk) whereas the internet security 2009 takes less than 3 hours !!!
My suggestion would be to buy the Kaspersky internet security suite 2009. This will give full protection at optimal performance. If you have only the antivirus then you need to protect yourselves with third party firewall like Zone alarm and other software for spyware protection.
Whilst the deal is a very good one from the value perspective, I would still avoid it.

I had a 3-user license for Kaspersky 7, but was able to download 2009 from their website and use the same license.

Hence a hot deal - I believe the license can be applied to the latest version too.

Thanks for confirming that Dr Slothy, I thought that was the case and that is why I bought it.

as DrSlothy said, just get the cd and then go to Kaspersky's website and download the latest version. The liscense works for the current 2009 version and this will be the same for the new version out this year.

Which means keep an eye from kasperksy offers :)

so when 2010 comes out and you see an cheep offer for the 2009 version - get and download the latest from the website.

No they are on version 8 also known as Internet Security 2009

If you have a current licence you are entitled to upgrade to the latest version so this is a good deal.

Thanks to Professor Yaffle I logged onto Barclays and followed the procedure. On kaspersky's special Barclays offer download page there is a direct link to Internet Security 2009... which is borke. '550 no such file or directory' Am going for a regular 30 day trial download... but really. Naff.

Oh and rep for Prof Yaffle. Thanx!

Great deal for paid for security. I would never promote free net security as it is the testing ground for hackers but some is better than none.

Big up to the guy who highlighted the barclays offer (which worked fine for me)

If I remember right after registering with Barclays you get directed to download the 30 day trial version and then Kaspersky or Barclays email you a code up to a couple of days after registering that unlocks the full version.

na just put avg free and spybot s&d on tbh :)

Been using McAffee for free recently - posted on here if I remember right...

I still rate F-Secure as the best I've dealt with, but for price this here Kasp deal ain't half bad either... If it works... Which judging my reviews it does... So I'll shut up!

I really should lay of the ale on school nights! Heheh!!!

I have Kaspersky 2007 on my computer and it will expire in a week's time. When I followed the link to renew the license, I was quoted a whopping £29.99 for a 1year, 3 user license- I only paid £14.99 when I bought it last year!

Sorry if this appears a silly question; if I buy Kaspersky 2007 from the works for £7.99, could I uninstall my expired version and install the new one? It would be much cheaper.

Yes if you download the 2009 now and instal it, you can just add the code when yours runs out.

Good deal - heat added. Saw one and three PC licence packs mixed together too.

Does anyone know if they have Internet security going cheap too?
