Hmm yea I realise AVG is free but some like other packages. They all do things differently & catch different virus's. Plus you get support with a retail licenced product.

All those on AVG free. Yes its good but not at all up there with the best. You do get what you pay for! I have used AVG in the past as have many people who have systems that I have later had to sort out. Kaspersky is excellent as is my own favourite NOD32.
I vote this hot.

You should try avast!
All rounder, more features than AVG and again it's FREE!

By voting cold, you are basically saying "I've found this item cheaper elsewhere" - Please post a link to this EXACT item at a cheaper price. Yes, there might be free AV's around, but it's not the same item, is it?

thought when you voted it could consiste of a lot of factors NOT just is the same item cheaper any where else. hence people voting cold. (not voted either way this time)

on the pay for versus free debate think this is one that wil never be solved, people run different software, have difffernt downloading programs, habits etc so comparisons are always diferent. all i know is ive never had to pay for software and have always remained virus free so im happy and in pocket :-D

If you access your money accounts or simply use a credit card on line we should be thinking about a good Security Suit, not just anti virus protection. Think about privacy violations such as key loggers, spyware and adware ect.

I'm not suggesting freebie software protection doesn't work or that a paid one will work, it's just that I haven't heard of anyone who transfers money regularly between their financial accounts and have any confidence in free security effectiveness.

Nobody get's viruses these days unless they are retarded enough to open .exe files sent from nigerians.
AVG and a brain cell is all you need.

Perhaps if you had a lot more brain cells you'd realise that some people may be very new to using a PC online which doesn't mean they are retarded.

Your attitude & arrogance sucks!

I've just tried this and the 30% off (PCW07) code appears to be no longer working...so debates about which product is best are somewhat wasted anyway!!!
