hi. thanks for that just ordered a few bits and took advantage of this offer, i have just installed kaspersky and it is so much better than norton and this one will do for next years, bargain
#3
Great price for a great anti virus. Though there are plenty of free AV apps out there like Avast and AVG.
#4
I have never had a problem using AVG free and various spyware applications like adaware, spybot etc, which of course are all free, never have I felt the need to buy internet security. Guess everyone is different though :)
#5
kaspersky is far superior to free/and paid avs like avg avast norton etc seen kaspersky find plenty of stuff on pcs" protected" with avg, avast , norton and mcafee

only 2 av's i can recommend kasp and Nod

each to their own :)
#6
I would buy this, but don't like the idea of it being available only for one year.

Avira free antivirus works perfectly fine.
#7
This is a resource hog and quite unintuitive to use. I had a free copy via my bank, but got rid of it in favour of Comodo Firewall + Avira Free.

Its not bad at all but its only a £1 saving compared to scan.co.uk and you have to buy £30 worth of goods to just get that price.

The Scan version is OEM - for system builders, whereas the Amazon version is the full retail version.

(and yes I know there nothing to stop anyone installing OEM versions even if they're not system builders, just pointing out the fact.

It's a great piece of software, especially if you can be bothered to have to install separate "free" firewall/antivirus/antispyware/antispam software

Voted HOT for price and quality

and the scan version is only the antivirus, not firewall etc
#12
Not sure if this is still available but it is cheaper at £7.99 and there is no need to spend £30.

Oh my word, not this again.

Please don't pay a penny, you don't have to. People who have spent their lives and careers studying computer programs know you don't have to, so please don't waste your money.

My only post on the matter after last time this was posted, I'm not arguing about it again.

The 2009 version is a bit screwy. I went back to v7 as it played havoc with my PC.
#15
if you have an account with barclays than its free for you. just visit barclays website.

My licence runs out in Dec and I forgot that Barclays customers get it free. Applied, and repped for reminding me :)
That spare code will go into v7 after Christmas

I currently use AVG but recently transferred my ISP from PlusNet to O2 and qualify for free McAfee. Is it worth using McAfee instead?

Thanx

be warned that this has known conflicts with IE7 on vista..I could not get IE to open after installation and the sidebar would not open..also Itunes and Quicktime would not open...failed to find a solution so have uninstalled and reinstalled AVG and all is back to normal.

In my opinion NO. Did you have any problems while using AVG? If no then no :) Up to yourself of course.

As I said, I have been using a mixture of AVG Free, Adaware, and Spybot. I have never had a problem.

www.majorgeeks.com is a good site for links to these programs and others.

Why do people make such stupid subjective comments?
This wins the PC Pro award for it's category every year. End of story!
Some of the free ones are also highly rated, but if people want to pay £2.83 per year to use the top-rated market leader then that's a matter for their own peace of mind.
I have spent my life and career working in IT and I find that having installed this on the pc's of my entire family for the last 2 years, that it keeps them clean and free of the malware that had me constantly making house calls to resolve their problems.
It's priceless to me.

Spot on, I install AVG Free 3 or 4 times a day on other peoples machines (as they don't want to pay), some system are fine, some struggle. I use kaspersky for me and my family, for the price, it's a no brainer. Yes Avg is fine, but it's a long way of this product for the sake of a few quid.

Seems expired, code isn't working anymore.

Code is still working for me. Make sure you use it on this product

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-3-Desktop-Subscription/dp/B001ANDJLS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1227123874&sr=8-1

Code doesnt work with the renewal. Also make sure you select Amazon where price has gone up to £24.99 or £12.49 after the 50% discount.

Cheers OP

That'll be what the problem was, I was trying to get the renewal.
