Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 Renewal - 1 Year, 1 User £5.99 from eoutlet
Never used them before, but reviews online seem okay.

Yes, this software is free if you use Barclays online banking, but if you don't this is the cheapest I've found for a renewal license (trial software freely available to download from Kaspersky's website).

Free to upgrade to the latest 2011 version, so all you're really buying here is a license for a year.

Google Checkout too which is a bonus.

Yes, there is free software available that will never find any viruses and give you lots of false-positives, but that one's been argued to death thousands of times before.

Edit: Price now back down to £4.99 and updated title to show that it is upgradeable to 2011.

Forgot to say - this is sometimes available in The Works for a few quid as well, but my local store didn't have any when I checked.

That's a weird statement. Kaspersky is not the best for everyone. I bank with Barclays but don't use Kaspersky because it conflicts with my other security programs (Kaspersky CS confirmed that and ask me to switch off my other software, LOL). I use free Avast and have no conflicts.

Picked up 5 user 2009 from works for £5.99 in the summer.

No problems for me at all.

Would highly recommend it

Microsoft, Avast and AVG are all still free.

you cant compare AVG or the the rest with one of the best AV there is and AVG is amongst the worst antivirus you can get and no one would payfor such ****

Here we go again....
The free alternatives like AVG, Avast and MSE are all well and groovy, but they are not security suites like KIS, but free basic anti-virus software. They do not have firewalls, spam filtering, anti-phishing, virtual keyboards, parental controls or web site monitoring/filtering. Yes there are free versions of those too for those who can be bothered. But who can say for sure that there won't be some conflicts between them.

Each to their own, but for a fiver for a year, KSI is a very effective suite of software.

if your using this to renew a licence wait until the last day because krapspersky will simply steal any remaining time from you.
#17
same old arguments every time.

mods should step in, but they never do.
delete the posts that arent about whether this product is available cheaper elsewhere.

i use kaspersky

first thing its always added the full time to my sub and ive never lost a day

only thing i found with kaspersky is i have no idea how to work the firewall cant find the controls or any info on it
but i can see it working
but i do feel very safe and i can see it updating every 10-15 mins and takes less than a min to update and unlike norton(choclate fireguard) which eats your memory and processor it uses little of each
its saved me from a load of dodgy web pages and blocks them before i get any hassle

when i tried the free ones they dont really update very often maybe this has changed now but i wouldnt change kasperskys had it for 3 years now on 3 pc's and as far as i know ive not had one virus effect me i normaly pick a 3 pc edition from the works and keep it for when mine is about to run out and it normaly gives me the latest version no matter what edition ive bought

i think it cost £6-£7 which is for 3 pcs for a year
ive had it on windows xp and windows 7 both worked really well with it

good price and i'm a kaspersky user but i have found the 2010 version slowing my pc down a bit so i rolled it back to the 2009 version.

Yes I bought the 2010 edition and had to take it off because It slowed everything down. Never used it apart from having it on the laptop. How do you roll it back to the previous year?

I would imagine he means to uninstall the 2010 version and then reinstall the 2009 one

Good luck :)

Anyone slating the free alternatives just because 'they're free' should take a look here where you'll notice Avast gets a higher score than Kaspersky.

Not that Kaspersky is by any means a bad product, and this is still a hot deal, but do some research before posting garbage!

connelp: Nobody slated Avast, only AVG. Maybe you should read that report a little better too since it's an antivirus test and doesn't take into account the other abilities of an 'Internet Suite' (HIPS, firewall, parental controls, spam protection etc.) which is, as stated, what makes products such as this better than basic AV (Avast, MSSE, Avira*).

[* Unless you combine them with a number of other programs; which for many is a lot of hassle and fear of conflicts. Given the cost of KIS on this thread, why bother?]

Same here, 2010 version very sluggish with XP after upgrade from 2009. Am now on 2011 version which is marginally quicker (Barclays customer). Don't notice any slowdown on my Windows 7 machine though, so maybe optimized for the latter and poor with older operating systems.

And Avira is free - which rates higher than all three previously mentioned.
Kaspersky's ratings have dropped.

Oh - just one word of warning for you all.
If you're using (or planning to use) Net Nanny (which is superb by the way), do not buy Kaspersky as they conflict and just lock up your net access.
I speak from experience having tried the 2009 version.

I bought a 1yr 3 user pack £5.99 (including mobile phone security for 1 user) from The Works in Brighton Western Rd yesterday, ready for when mine runs out in a few months. They had loads left.
I've tried them all over the years and have always gone back to Kaspersky, just a personal preference. It doesn't slow my machines down as much as I found others do and after about 4 years I've never had any problem with the software. Have had to contact customer support a couple of times (through my own stupidity after buying wrong product on website!) and they were very helpful and efficient, always a big fat plus for me.

Also, I've used the same code on 5 different machines (3 user) with no problem!
#34
I know some people would have had bad experiences with free antiviruses, but give Microsoft Security Essentials a shot, I switched from Norton, and I'm not going back.
#35
VERY VERY good deal. normally £40. thanks so much. not too sure about delivery however, as they say dispatched next day but they don't say anywhere what they use (i.e. first class, second class etc.)
#36
just purchased but now £4.99 free p+p
#37
Thanks vtservices. Updated with new price.
#38
Do they deliver this to you or isit a digital download?
#39
They deliver the full boxed 2009 product, but all you're really interested in is the activation code contained in the box.
You download the 2011 trial version free from Kaspersky and activate it using the code.
