Came out best of the free ones in Computer Shopper lab test last month, but was outclassed by this product.

Sure you will get replies about Barclays free version but think that is only for 12 months so you have to pay after the first year if you want to continue. If you are with Vermin media their PC guard is Kapersky antiv.

Been posted many many times, From play just a few days ago:

Have you read the T&C (especially privacy statement)? Do you really want to be tracked by MS?

Kasperky is freely available from Barclays. Just open a savings account with £1.

Not correct. You get a new license each year as long as you keep your account open.

The code is for 15% off marked price (£24.99). How do you get £17.49???

and where do you enter code? (At what stage?)
#10
Free if you use Barclays online banking.
#11
Voted COLD. Sorry.

15% off 24.99 = £21.20 and not £17.49 (OP misquoted price).
Better deal at PC World £19.99 delivered / R+C.

I didn't try as I didn't know where to enter code. Besides you mentioned 15% off code. It should be 30% off then?

NP. Sorry for voting cold. With 30% off this is indeed a good deal. I am an avid fan of kaspersky and been using them for some time now.

But I would advice everyone to go for KIS 2009 instead of KIS 2010. There are many issues with KIS 2010 slowing the computer down. I did an upgrade from 2009 to 2010 and then downgraded again to 2009 as KIS 2010 slowed down the computer. There are many thread in kaspersky lab forum about this.

Upgrade from KIS2009 to KIS 2010 is FREE so you can upgrade once all issues are sorted.

Do i just open this type of account

and put £1 in it and let it sit and i would still get the Kaspersky internet security:?
#19
Thanks OP good deal, still have about 100 days of my current Kaspersky license to run but bought this and wil activate when needed. Might be on sale a couple of quid cheaper in next 100 days who knows though.
#20
Shame they can't protect their website from being hacked.
#21
Kaspersky is a very good internet security proven by independent tests, on par with Norton 2010.

Ive used Kaspersky for about five years now, once set up it runs un-noticed in the backgroung. Three PC's in my house, this offer came as my old subscription was about to expire. Thanks, £17.49 voted hot.... Remember, you get nothing for free, unless you steal it. Dont be a cheapskate.

Shocking as it sounds, Norton is now right up there.
Microsoft Security Essentials is better (and free) now who'd have thought MS and Norton could get things right

Have a read of this. Norton has come a long way since it was an ineffective resource hog. It has now been voted product of the year 2009 by AV Comparatives, a respected and independent anti-virus tester.

I've lost count of the number of PC's I've fixed where Kaspersky or Norton have contributed to the root cause of the problem.
Why anyone wants to part with good money when there are better free products available is beyond comprehension.

Thanks OP

For anyone ordering multiple copies you will need to place seperate orders as the discount code only works against one item:?

Dont think I'll be upgrading to 2010 just yet but, as my licences run out in 16 days this deal has come in very handy.

AVG also has a paid for version, if that doesn't tell you enough about the free version then nothing ever will.

Yupp, Its free, but also total crap. Every single Anti-virus out there that charges is crap.

If you are so stupid to click on things, you deserve to have your pc infected.

So naive, you don't have to click on anything to get infected with a virus, trojan or worm.

The only way that you can guarantee a uninfected pc is to never connect it to a network, the internet or ever install anything on it.

There is not a single anti-virus solution that has no impact on your PCs performance if you enable real time file protection. The performance difference from a clean install of windows to Kaspersky 2009 being installed is very noticeable, and 2010 is supposed to be worse.

True, but some products are definitely better than others and for 99% of people better to run with a very slightly slower PC and no viruses than no AV and catch one within minutes! Only REALLY EXPERIENCED users, or those with very specific needs, should run without AV.

HUGE generalisation, Kaspersky has had some problems with particularpoint versions and particular setups but it's never encountered the sort of slowdowns that plagued Norton pre 2009 releases.

Please tell, or I'm calling BS - I've lost count of the number of times people spout absolute rubbish on here :whistling:

My recommendations are:
basic antivirus -
Microsoft Security Essentials
Avir
(both free)

complete internet security -
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 or 2010
Norton Internet Security 2009 or 2010 (if you're lucky enough it don't go wrong!)
or a hand-picked selection of separate AV, firewall and other malware protection including HIPS (not worth going into detail here)

(There are a couple of others that are also worth a try but those above are most people's best bet)
#39
So I got a KIS 2009 from fleabay for about £9 (retail boxed , sealed) - 3 users plus free upgrade to 2010 (via download). Job done.

I guess they are saying Virgin Media broadband customers get free PC guard software which either is, or is 'powered by' Kaspersky antivirus.

Yes, correct here you go:
