I used to be a user of AVG free but have since moved to Kaspersky Internet Security and found it a lot more secure.

Secure? These people feed on your paranoia, AVG is just as good and doesn't give all those irritating false positives.

Well my sis was using AVG (that I installed) on her laptop and it didn't detect a Heur-Trojan, thats when I decided to get all the home PCs transfered to kerpersky.

AVG is now, sadly, rubbish.

i use the following:

anti-virus = avira antivir

firewall = sunbelt

both free and never have an issue, doesn't slow pc down also
#7
Hot deal, been using kasper for about 2 years, you get what you pay for imo.
#8
I use avast AVG and Comodo firewall, both free and easy to use :)

I found Comodo too intrusive, too many popups.
Kaspersky has been running on 2 pc's for me for a year and no problems.
If you found Kaspersky is "crap" maybe it was your own actions that infected the pc!
Kaspersky 2010 is free to Barclays bank customers and can be put on 3 pc's which I've just done.

i have recently purchased kaspersky 2009 ( about to install).but is the 2010 version much safer or do i just stick with my 2009. :?

AVG is well known for false positives, that is its biggest failing, try googling 'avg false positives'

sorry m8, but you are completely wrong. avg free edition is really bad nowadays.

must have seen about 5 threads in the past month alone on here with people having pc problems cos they have viruses that avg let through

kaspersky is excellent and you cant go wrong at £5 per pc

Im not using 2 AV programs, just using the comodo firewall. Work fine together and neither intrusive, comodo can generate pop-ups when installing programs but just select installer mode and they stop.

I've used them all :) and at work i have avg as the company to stingy, where as at home i use kaspersky 2009 for nearly a year never had an issue.

I've used norton and macfee perviously. but i find kaspersky seem less resource hungary and also 2009 version had a virtiual keyboard to use when doing banking etc.

So it's really horses for courses, but non are fool proof and a user can still cause an infection by ignoring a message etc.

I think it's a very good price for a 3 user with 1 years updates

Haha, if you get Norton you'll be very very sorry. Surely it was only ever popular because places like PC world used to push people into it. It has got to be one of the worst AV programs ever, to the point that viruses are preferable.

Good price for this though it's always fairly cheap. And as one person pointed out, you can get it free if you use barclays banking so can save yourself some money if you can be bothered to open a new account.

I guess you got your facts wrong. Users are shifting from NORTON to KASPERSKY. I've been installing KASPERSKY to my PCs and customers' and never had a problem. They are all happy and satisfied!

GOOD LUCK anyway with NORTON!
