Any recommendations?

Millbrook are a good brand compared to many of the other big brand names. But I would still go for smaller independent manufacturers if I were you. In general they still make them by hand, and don't seem to be cutting quality in order to save on production costs in the same way that many of the big brands do.

I'll do that. Many thanks.

This might be a bit out of date now to expect a reply, but just in case...

I've been considering a Millbrook - any opinions or any other recommendations? Great advice so far and much appreciated.

Believe me, I'm in the trade, and I refuse to sell any product in the Silentnight group. This includes Silentnight (obviously), Sealy, Rest Assured, Layezee, and The Pocket Sprung Bed Company. The most unreliable thing seems to be the Miracoil continuous spring system (also known as Posturetech by Sealy), but the unreliability problem seems to effect the whole range.

I just hope you are lucky with yours.

I had heard poor things about the continuous sprung ones which is why I went for the pocket sprung, though the memory foam pillowtop is that thick I am not sure how much work the pocket springs are actually doing.

The memory foam is only there to mould to your body providing even support, without pressure points. All the bounce and the firmness comes from the springs underneath. However you are right, the memory foam will help to protect the springs slightly.
