Top quality floor standers, fantastic sounding pair of speakers for music, perfect addition to the 3005 cinema set or other KEF/Quality home cinema to really bring the music up to scratch.
Best price I've seen for a long time was £745 so at £649 their excellent value. Can confirm there available as I've ordered myself a pair in black.

The powerhouse that is the Kef IQ90 floorstanding speakers are here to show the competition a thing or two about high end speaker design. Packing a whopping 200w power handling, the Kef IQ90 floorstanding speakers are best suited to larger home cinema rooms and perhaps even detached houses! Kef have studied the old Q series and have made improvements in the crossover and internal circuitry meaning the new IQ90's sound better than even, out-performing their predecessors, the IQ9's. The Kef IQ90 floorstanding speakers look very similar, in fact almost identical to the IQ9's (with the exception of the 'tangerine' waveguide tweeter cover). This is a good thing, making the IQ90's one of the best looking floorstanders on the market.

The Kef IQ790 floorstanding speakers make use of Kef's 'tangerine' waveguide tweeter cover, which is also used in the popular Kef KHT3005SE system, to help smoothen and disperse high frequencies thus allowing for a wider, more realistic high frequency whilst also, rather conveniently, protecting the IQ90 tweeter driver from harm. With rigorously engineered magnet systems and titanium-coated cones, the crucial midrange combines delicacy and assertiveness in equal measure. Dual composite bass cones are driven by ultra-low distortion motors incorporating Faraday rings to iron out harmonic distortion and deliver incredible extended bass.

The Kef IQ90 floorstanding speakers are available in five finishes: black ash, dark apple american walnut, light oak veneer, walnut veneer. Call us on 01282 864048 if you have any questions on the Kef IQ90 floorstanding speakers.

Married mate....just not under the thumb like u lot

If you can afford it and its YOUR cash I can't understand why anyone would need to ask/beg the wife? Totally bizarre.

Some good deals on at Superfi for Kefs too;

iQ50 @ £499

iQ70 @ £599

These iQ90s are probably a bit of a large load for most sub £1000 amps if people are thinking of just upgrading from what they have now.

Good deal though if you have the kit to go with them!

Spot on mate.

I'm sure the wife don't beg them!

Nice. Not wife friendly though which is why I went with the eggs.

How do you 'sell' her on £650 worth of speakers?
Won't make much difference to a 7.1 surround unless the one you have is old, check the output from your amp or whatever.

Ha, ha, you're one of these blokes who acts all macho until the missus appears:-D. Stick kids into the equation and there's no such thing as, "YOUR" money, anymore.;-) You'll find out if you've got what it takes.

Think you would get an A* if they were.

This thread could reverse global warming - in that it will put people off marriage and populating the world with more people. Sound like a freaking awful life and just think then the kids leave home at 36 they will never call you unless they want something. Happy times

Wow, in denial or what...

You're so hen-pecked you actually believe that tripe...

Stand up to her, she may bitch and whine but secretly she'll respect you for it. Who knows, it might just persuade her to stop shagging the milkman.

So you 'should' have said..."i can't afford them" rather than blame the wife for not 'letting' u have them.

I dont usually drop in like this, but I've gotta totally agree here. The amount of people I see in a relationship with the other half ruling entirely is gobsmacking these days. Your money, if you can afford it without knocking everything out of balance, go for it!
#31
Regardless of money, your other half *might* question the value of a full-scale model of Stonehenge in the living room, just so your blu ray of Mr Bean's Holiday sounds 5% better...

Its a very subjective field. Fair enough, some may only hear 5% difference in which case some half decent consumer gear will do. Having just stuck a load of money in B&W's direction however and with the right source, I can personally vouch for it being a bit more than 5%. Horses for courses.

Looks like these are a clearance item from the Nottingham store. You'll have to check to see if they're available from your local store. Most of the clearance items appear to be ex-dem, some though are new and I'd imagine are in limited numbers.
#34
there definately new, they dont keep them instock, ordered from kef, should be with me next week. The guy at the store said there just doing a promotion on them at the moment. Helpfull for anyone for price matching too if you'd rather get them from a local store/other web retailer. :-)

Are you sure? The specs sound benign enough for most modern amps, though they might not tell the whole story of course.

Nothing wrong in having your own money and spending it..........But if it does come to something thats pretty expensive......i'm sure your underneath that soft sensitive type that'll never complain if your wife better half GF whatever spends £700 quid on a handbag or something that you secretly hate and she just says well its my money darling and i can do what i want with it.....Like it or lump it...............Oh yeah let the good times roll..........:)

What a load of misogynistic claptrap !
Just because you realise there are two people's opinions to consider does not mean you are hen-pecked.
Presumably you both live in the house - and you would probably not appreciate your wife painting the house pink - So you expect her to respect your opinion, but not vice versa.
There is more to being a man than demanding that your wife should obey you.

I spent £5000 on my KEF Reference floorstanders.

My missus didn't like me spending that sort of money on them and we had a few heated discussions on it. I wanted them and could afford it, so she was cool.
