Although widely copied, it was KEF who originally brought us the "egg" speaker. The latest incarnation of their best-selling speaker package is the KEF KHT1005.2. The KEF KHT1005.2 speaker package not only features the famous egg shaped satellite speakers but, for the first time with this particular model, finishes them in a deep and lustrous piano black gloss. For finish alone, the KEF KHT1005.2 are in a class of their own.

Yet don't for one minute think that this KEF speaker package is a mere catwalk model - there's far more to it than that. The satellite speakers each feature a 3" KEF UNI-Q drive unit that's formed from aerospace material. Combined with the diecast enclosure, the result is exceptionally precise and informative sound quality. Of course, the most exacting mid-range and treble performance is of little use in a home cinema application without a deep and powerful bass to match: thanks to the matching KEF KUBE 1 subwoofer, this is exactly what you'll get.

For a home cinema system which has the sound quality to match the looks, the KEF KHT1005.2 proves that KEF are still masters of the home cinema speaker package.

Fantastic price, how did you manage that was it an offer at the time or ex-demo open box? I looked at Superfi and they are currently on an Internet offer of £399.95

And the Yamaha 667 for £249 is the silver model only...

I bought both at the weekend.

Saving yourself a few pounds on the KEF but I would argue that the KEF are a better sounding package (_;)

See some cold votes, would love to know who can find it cheaper, probably the same people who get excited saving 10p off a can of beans or packet of cereal :p

Have a set, can be a bit tinny in large rooms, in AV set ups, personaly use them for 5.1 sround on my PC. Went 1000's, 2000's then 5000's on my 6.1 AV set up.

most people on avforums think the XS are better. I wouldn't know, I've never compared the two.

Great deal , have some heat .

Just bought them today to go with my Yamaha receiver (bought last week from RS) and after setting them up , cutting wire and removing old speakers and 5.1 Spherex system , I loaded up a Blu Ray , Happy Feet , cut too 'Somebody to love' and WOW !!!!! this is the Dogs B*%^$£* :)

The sound is not only really present without being too loud , but the speaker differential is clear as crystal , no more muffled sounds . I have been after this type of setup for years , no money left but now I have it !

btw , the RS salesperson didn't seem too pleased when he suggested these are a better sound than the Bostons (music as well as film) he said we have these amazing KEF's at a really good deal today for £399 , I said , "I'll take em for £299" ..VIP deal.. the look on that guys face :)
