If you're into quality home entertainment, you'll know about KEF's KHT2005 system - the original won so many awards and 5-star ratings that it would be hard not to.

But even rave reviews can't prepare you for the experience of listening to the latest version of this high performance system. Those distinctive cast aluminum enclosures house KEF's unique Uni-Q arrays combined with sophisticated metal dome tweeters to deliver vocals that make your hair stand on end. As before, audiophile quality components are fitted throughout - and with KEF`s Uni-Q, everyone in the room enjoys the same superbly detailed sound image wherever they are sitting.

Satellite and Centre Speakers

KEF has always been renowned for design integrity, and the new KHT2005.3 is no exception. The cast aluminum enclosures of the satellite speakers are computer optimised to minimise internal resonance and distortion for a purer, cleaner sound. Being identical, there's a perfect tonal match between the front and rear surround speakers and the centre channel. The centre speaker can also be placed horizontally for better placement above or below the TV.
The ingenious multidirectional base has been improved and now makes it even easier to place satellite speakers virtually anywhere - on any flat surface, at any angle on walls, or on the optional stands. As they're fully magnetically shielded, there's no risk of interference with other equipment nearby.

Charismatic is the only word to describe the KHT2005.3, the latest evolution of the iconic and original 'egg - KHT2005.

Subwoofer- Kube 2

The KUBE-2 delivers a well defined and impressive bass that is sure to rock any home theatre. The 200W on-board Class-D amplifier has all the flexibility you need for personalising the output with frequency and level adjustments and a 'Bass Boost' control so any personal preference or room specific conditions can be catered for.

The KUBE-2 features a side-firing 250mm (10in.) long-throw bass driver and a complementing 250mm (10in.) ABR

Really tempted by these, are they easy to set up and can you put sky/xbox/blu ray etc through it?
#3
If you've got the right av reciever yeah - got my KEFs wired to my av reciever, and ps3 etc connected to av. Works wonders. Not cheap though.
#4
Great kit and price. Just a shame it is silver and not piano black versions (for obvious reasons)

Good find.
#5
could get it for £449 on a Richer Sounds Price Match
#6

the sound from gladiator on blu ray was awesome

Good for you.

Nice looking bit of kit and without hearing it I would assume it sounded good with it being KEF, but wouldn't you be better opting for better speakers (floorstanders at the front and/or bookshelf speakers) and a sub rather than having those satellites? I would have thought for that money you would be able to find a better custom set up.

Good price though.

I've had a pair KEF speakers since the early 80's and they still look modern and new and sound stunning.
#27
the only problem with this deal is that I cant afford it. Wish i could though, this is a great deal and KEF eggs are fantastuc speakers.
#28
KEF eggs are good little speakers, although the sub isn't that great (not bad though). They're idea if you want a good sounding system without lots of big boxes on the floor or walls. As for speaker cable, go for something like QED Silver Anniversary - excellent value for money. This is certainly a good deal - when I got mine, when they first came out, they costs me £700+
#29
Ahh so wish I could afford these. Audiophillia (if that is even correct) is an expensive business, if you were to buy these you'd need to spend a decent amount on an Amp to do these justice *sob*
#30
Wife Acceptance Factor will be extremely low on such piece of kit ;-)
#31
I just bought this speaker system for £499 in black last week, they look and sound stunning, brilliant clarity and brilliant bass from the sub, enough to fill a 5 x 4 room with ease  they look really modern as well, as soon as I let the wife hear them she loves them, when I told here the where going po replace my floor standers :w00t: and were going to be wall mounted "more floor space" she was immediately impressed :-D wish I could afford another set

best to go for a modern AV reciever which has hdmi inputs and outputs. i have the onkyo 876 which is last years model and its a monster. you'd be surprised at what it can do.
#33
Makes tea?
#34
can you wall mount these or put them on speaker stands, for the rear speakers?

Expect you'd be very pleased, I run my 2005.2's on an STRDA1200ES.
I haven't tried them with high-res Blu-ray audio, but they sparkle with SACD and DVDA material.

What's the warranty status for this thing?
I remember reading somewhere that purchases from play.com are not subject to the distance sales act because of its offshore location. Is that true here?
#38
I am sure it is 5 year on the speakers and one year on the sub amp.
