Good price for 375g box, cheaper than Asda and the 2 for £4 offer at Sainsburys.

Couldn't agree more !!!

This is supposed to be a site discussing Hot UK Deals, it's not meant to be a supermarket flyer for their weekly offers.. Otherwise, we'd all be submitting deals on toilet rolls being reduced by 30p..

Thought this site was meant for all types of deals, not just toys for the boys.

My local Morrisons has ALL types of special K at half price.

Exactly! There's a very good site here for anyone who wants to check out the latest deals on bread, milk, baked beans and Diet Coke.

http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/

We really don't need them cluttering up this great forum.

Taksim - do you keep bumping this thread for fun!

Personally, I say live and let live - why shouldn't people post finds about the price of coke, cereals, and whatever else.

There are quite a few posters who got £5 joints because of one of my posts instead of paying £25 like the label said.

Equally cans of coke at discount earned us lots of ipods and gadgets, personally I wouldn't have known about without reading it on here.

If you have a real problem with these posts why don't you suggest the mods open a seperate Forum for supermarket deals?

That's the thing though these aren't really "deals" are they they're just run of the mill basic supermarket offers. We all know supermarkets ALWAYS have certain groceries on offer, they just vary them around every few weeks that's all. There's never been a time when any of the major supermarkets didn't have any BOGOF's or 3-for-2 offers on has there?

I'm not saying ban all supermarket "deals" I'd just wish people were a bit more creative with what they post that's all. Stuff for £5 that should have been £25, like that joint you mention, I've no problem with also that deal before Xmas were people were buying 300+ cans of Coke just to get an i-pod I thought was brilliant. I laughed my socks off at that picture somebody posted showing dozens of crates of Coke stacked upto their bedroom ceiling and the prospect of members taking out a stall at a car boot sale to flog the cans off was quality! :-D Deals like those show a bit more inniative imo.

I could easily go onto Mysupermarket.co.uk right now and and find hundreds of basic supermarket offers to post on here if I wanted to but I don't because there's nothing particularly special about them and it's not what a deals forum should really be about. HUKD should be a place for exciting innovative deals, stuff that's difficult to find yourself - which surely is the whole reason for coming here in the first place?

Let's face it just because Sainsbury's for example have an half price offer on Bran Flakes or whatever, some people might vote hot but are they really going to go out of their way and do their weekly shop at Sainsbury's when they normally go to Tesco or Asda? Probably not, whereas other stuff like the reconditioned Tom Tom for £57 which we bought the mother in law for Xmas or the Medion laptop deal from Viking for £230 on Xmas day (where we all got sorted one way or another - and not to forget a free £20 voucher) are both great examples of what this site SHOULD be about. I can honestly say there would have been no realistic way that I would have come across those deals without the assistance of this great site.

You summed it up perfectly yourself when you said "personally I wouldn't have known about (the i-pod and gadget deals) without reading it on here". That's true you wouldn't but stuff like half price Special K you could have easily found on Mysupermarket.

I'm certainly not alone here as a lot of people I know agree with me. I think it would be great if we could at least have a separate supermarket section or a filter - just some kind of way to keep "deals" like this out of the main section. We used to have a thread for each of the major supermarkets back in the old days where everything for that shop went in the same thread. Seems much more sense to me.

Can anything be done Mods? Please.
