I'm always amazed by the price differences (presumably largely tax driven) between UK & Germany. I spend a lot of time in Germany and usually buy their 'own brand' bourbons in Aldi/Lidl for about 9-10 Euros

My guess is this will be a nice bourbon. The Western Gold 6yo at Lidl is excellent (Gold Outstanding in last year's IWSC). Yes and significantly cheaper in Europe.

I think that's very unlikely - Lidl sell Jim Beam marked as Jim beam plus an unknown 'old brand' type one.....I believe this will be the latter.

Aldi stopped doing their own bourbon about a year ago in the UK - now Jim Beam.

My guess is that Jim Beam produced Aldi's own brand in UK/Europe.

You could be right that they are the same thing - Aldi still sell Jim Beam marked as Jim Beam for £12.99, so the 10p off suggests it is this!
