My other half is the kiss of death on anything which costs money, i dont really know how but she has managed to break the microwave oven which was only 2 years old. a couple weeks ago she broke my lawn mower.

anyway, the hunt for a decent stainless steel microwave was on.

i saw this little number at currys for 1/2 price and was getting ready to go out to the shops and buy it. but right at the last minute i found it for £21 cheaper than currys 1/2 price offer.

apparently this microwave is rather good according to which magazine

Blimey Panasonic have come out quite well in their tests. I'm just scoffing down some toad in the hole and mash now. Instructions say 40 minutes but nuked in my Panasonic combi it takes 13 mins in combi mode.

I think you should read between the lines - what your other half is actually saying "cook once in a while and mow that bloody lawn or it's REALLY going to cost you"

however i do the lawn, that trusty flymo did me for 5 years, she used it 2 times, 1st time she broke the little wheels on it and 2nd time she blew the engine.

aswell as leaving new gardening tools out in the rain. :x

the microwave will be with me in 2 days unless im unlucky and it dont come till monday.

I wouldn't trust pixmania at all. As they spam you ever week with offers, you unsubcribe and they still send them. You are not covered under distance selling act as they are sent from France. Id call Dixon's up and get them to price match it!

you shouldnt cut the grass when wet it hammers the lawn mower. it aint growing anyhow.best left till spring if ya get a new mower.

I've had an incredibly bad experience with Pixmania and their customer services.
Pictures (and a video) speak louder than words - http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l305/derekyau/Samsung_Monitor/:x

They do offer good prices... but if things go wrong, it takes forever to sort out as ukbill69 rightly said - they're based in France (when dealing with customer services, returns etc.)

Buyer beware.

Echo....

Steer well clear or pixmania. I've tried ordering from them twice, twice it has been a complete disaster. Like much of anything French tbh!

This is not made by Kenwood at all its a DSG (Dixons/Currys who also own Pixmana now for those that do not know) own brand model made by Galanz in China just badged as a Kenwood they have nothing to do with this microwave. Spares stock holding is low so you could wait upto 6 months for a repair only things in stock are the bulb, turntable coupler even the turntable is out of stock in the UK, be warey

I think hot deals should not only vote for the hot deal, but also be able to add there comments about the merchant and give them a rating. derekyau, your lcd mate I feel for you. Looks like the driver had already undone that or that was a customer return due the no packing on bottom and brown tape was used on the box. When they come out of the factory they use clear tape.

I just did a "Google Shopping" search for this and it brings up Currys and Dixons price as £45. However when you click the link to their sites the price is £90. :?

Seems like a good deal to me, and although Pixmania are not the best I have had quite a few successful transactions with them in the past.

I would anytime go for a Panasonic than Kenwood (and it does not have a grill) by paying little bit more.

off topic, but Flymo's have a MAX life of 5 years. One of the worst in terms of reliability. Mine gave up in a cloud of smoke after 4 years, though they are easy to use while they last

That was a price that was set a week ago. Contact Dixon's and they will sell at that price.

"a couple weeks ago she broke my lawn mower"

only way my wife could brake the lawnmower is if she backed the car into it

BUYER BEWARE - PIXMANIA IS THE WORST ONLINE RETAILER.
Just a word of warning, I've bought many things online and my worst experience ever was with Pixmania. I purchased a laser printer which had been damaged in transit. It took me ages to get it returned but finally after about 3 months I got a replacement which also turned out to be faulty. After umpteen emails etc. I finally returned to them (at my expense) then got nothing back, not even a refund - it just seemed to dissapear into their system! Pixmania goods are sourced in France and, if you get any problems the manufacturer here in the UK won't honour any repairs, returns etc. I'm not one to give up easily but this purchase just wore me out and I've vowed never to touch Pixmania again so be warned!

That's actually not true about the DSR...they are europe-wide.

To be honest virtually all microwaves now a days are not made by the brand that is on them.

The Morph Richards one on here is also an Argos Exclusive made by Galanz and has nothing to do with Morphy Richards, again the same with Delonghi Microwaves through Argos & Currys/Dixons are not made by them, oh same with Russell Hobbs as well, all these are just Badged **** models.

The only people that actually make their own are LG, Samsung & Panasonic, Sharp, very one else is just a chinese model badged and have nothing to do with the Brand on them, they wont help you with it you have to go back to where you brought it.

quite expensive really ,no grill etc...
