plastic?

Costs about £50 to make but to buy it at £450 sounds a bit steep and not really a deal, seems like this one is going the same way as the last fly-away shed

We have the low storage keter units at work and after 2 winters they are wrecked. If these are the same quality you're better off with wood.

Total rubbish - customer service woeful. I had one turn up with loads of parts missing. Never again.
#5
sorry, just wanted to add,, for this price you could buy either a metal shed or a fully treated tongue and groove version (cheap lap sheds are half the price but they would not last)
#6
,i have same for last 3 years , it's bit flimsy but passed recent storm without problem.
#7
oh no, I was actually going to get this!! So glad I see this post before ordering.

my missus bought the 6x4 version from Wilkos for £249. its ok to be honest but £449 for the 8x6 sounds way overpriced
#9
Id rather pay extra for a t and g shed

Ive got loads of plastic cupboards and sheds but prefer wood

I'm currently in the market for a new shed (at least 9 x 8 ) and had a look at these keter sheds in costco. They seemed quite sturdy. Easy to put up and low maintenance. Anybody have any alternative recomendations or experience with a good quality manufacturer? Timber or otherwise. I have been looking at this company:

stick with a square shed, no need to change the shape just what it's made from

Same here.

Posted this to get some feedback. Price is higher than what I am willing to pay and wooden shed will look better in garden. But, I am not sure I can maintain a wooden shed.

What a load of rubbish is being said about plastic sheds! I have a Keter Plastic Shed (11x8ft) which I bought for £674.99 from Argos in 2007 and I absolutely love it. It has shrugged off all of the storms that we have had on the west coast of Scotland and it still looks as good as the day that I bought it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Highly recommended!

We have a 8x6 keter. Was easy to put up and is sturdy. Had it quite a few years. Also have a 6x4 £99 plastic shed. Gave the impression it may have been made by the same factory, it was harder to put up and is not quite as sturdy, but, we have had it longer and its still absolutely fine.

OperateOnMe - care to share how you know it costs £50 to make?

£449 - where's the deal?
#19
Having read previous keter postings the impression I get is that the quality has tailed off in recent years. So I would take the 'I've had one for years' quotes with a pinch of salt. I've got a garden store that outwardly looks similar to an older one why dad has. Mine is falling apart but his is still going strong.

I have similar installed four years ago still looks good no problems so far.

10% off and cheapest I could find on Internet. £600 on Amazon. Hence, posted as deal. Considering the temp of the deal, it doesn't appear to be a good deal.

Did you use concrete base or slabs?
#23
As shed was on sloping drive I used 2x4 or 2x6 timber, but with extra support for floor as it is plastic and needs closer support than timber joists give.

Concrete base but if its flat surface its actually comes with plastic base.

Had the larger version of this shed (10x8) since 2007. Still looks like new. Very sturdy and was really easy to erect. (hardly a cross word between me and husband). A number of my friends having seen it, have also ordered one and have had no problems. As an afterthought I would like to add that it is at the bottom of my garden and is fairly well screened with trees so recent high winds have not caused any problems.
