Who cares who makes a car that comes with a 7 year warranty? Bigger balls than most makes you'd approve of, to offer such a thing.

Definitely HOT

Why, there is nothing wrong with Kia Cars, they are amongst the best value and most reliable cars on the road.

What other manufacturer gives a 7 year warranty?
#4
will they still be around for the 7 years though?

korean cars today are the japanese cars of the eighties - sneered at by lots but very good value for money.

better built than french or vauxhall equivalent

Warranty Terms and Conditions

The 7 year warranty is effective on all vehicles registered from 1 January 2010. Any vehicles already registered in 2010 will receive a 7 year warranty but customers will need to return to their Kia dealer to receive updated WISE labels, rear window stickers and handbooks.

The 7 year warranty is a full manufacturer’s warranty. The exact terms and conditions vary slightly between models but as a minimum:

* there is no mileage limit during the first 3 years, except for vehicles used as taxis where a limit of 100,000 miles applies.
* there is a 100,000 mile limit between years 4 and 7.
* paintwork is covered for 5 years / 100,000 miles..
* audio is covered for 3 years / 60,000 miles.
* batteries are covered for 2 years.
* normal ‘wear and tear’ on items such as brake linings and clutch linings, etc. are excluded from cover.
* the warranty is transferable to subsequent owners and is valid across Europe.

Whilst this is not my kind of car and I do think it has a limited market segment (e.g. I'm a 22 male and I would't want to be seen in this - but this market segmentation applies to any car obviously) - in terms of the deal and the 7 year warranty (which is fantastic) - it's very hot!!

manbearpig - a) I love your username :D but b) you can't just say this is a ****** car without backing it up matey.....

Not my cup o tea, but the olds are gonna love it.

My dad's mondeo 02. is at 140k miles, not one problem yet...

My 97 reg fiesta has no problems at all at 100k miles...

they will run for ages if looked after.. ya must of had crap luck

Are there any terms and conditions to the 7 year warranty?

I know certain makes require you to service the car at dealer every year in order for the warranty to stay valid and when you consider the rip off prices of dealership servicing it can turn out to be quite an expensive 7 years.

This is not true, this was scrapped years ago, you are free to have your car serviced by who you want without affecting your warranty.

I wish people would not post things as true without checking, it just perpetuates the myth.

I know a 6 foot fat bloke, with ginger hair, who drives one --- he looks like the Honey Monster coming down the street :) There's one thing, driving a small car is ok if you're small, but it looks stupid if you have to shoehorn yourself into it

I agree, depends who you are. Personally, a KIA does not appeal to me at all, but i admit this is a great car and and will definetly be much much more reliable than a crappy french car or equivalent.

Not as stupid as a small person in a big car, little people driving land rovers springs to mind, not to mention bmw's, mercedes etc

Basically people smaller than 6 foot should be banned from driving cars other than micras. It would help our carbon footprint too.

cheap for a new car but too small for me - i need another one for the other foot!
wouldnt touch fords

my mum's ford escort gave up @ 80K!
i had a ford fiesta xr2 for 1 week before i sold as it was rubbish
think the focus is the most overrated car ever made too, like vauxhalls even less as they have dreadful handling

as for mileage...i had a modified peugeot 205gti 1.9 did 152K before i sold it still in mint cond @12 years old, no probs despite my slow driving
my golf gti did 141K before i sold it in mint cond @ 12 years old
all pretty good for petrol cars, especially for a pug!

think ya just had bad luck with fords, as all our fords in our family just run like a dream and can't say i've known anyone who has a problem with fords :whistling:

focus's are nice but i think the new one coming out next year looks mint.

But ye, i agree wv will run forever just like a ford imo.

And i will never drive a peugeot, they've come a long way since my dad used to drive um around in the police, but story's i've heard about um falling apart years ago(like 20yrs). won't touch one.

Of course they will, they are part of Hyundai, one of the largest companies in Asia.

Vauxhall/Opel, Ford and Chrysler and a few others may well not be.

Almost certainly Saab will not be around in 6 months time.

Well that's funny, because Ford produce the most reliable cars next to Mazda (which Ford now owns a lot of).

A serviced Ford engine will do 250K easy. Maybe you didn't service it when you should have.:whistling:

I say this unbiased, I have a Peugeot for christ sakes. 139K miles and still going good.:)

Been driving one for 3 months now, basic model.
Not the most luxurious car in the world but for town/city driving it's excellent.
Basic is very basic though,no central locking, manual rear windows and mirrors and the boot space is tiny.
Prefered my Suzuki Wagon, but this will do for work and shopping.
Not the first Kia i've had either.Had the Pride when they came out. Most reliable car i've ever owned.

does the picanto come in a automatic?

It is not actually a deal though as you quote the scrappage price, not the retail. Not everyone will be able to get this price as they don't have a car that qualifies for the scrappage scheme.

I'm voting cold on this basis as it is a car sold at RRP with a scrappage scheme allowance that only a certain amount of people will qualify for; it is a lot like the regular Littlewoods "deals" that get posted on here
#32
Very nice deal I wish there were more like these on HUKD. Buying this car brand new would probably cost less than running a second hand fiesta for 7 years (tax, mots, parts etc)

So other members have to miss out because you should only post deals that are going to be applicable to the majority?
Voted hot.

I have had a Sportage for more than four years. I have had Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota previously. Not had a single issue with it - it has never once not started and it is quality built. I will recommend this dealto the father-in-law.
#35
This is a cheap baby car on the face of it, and if you have a ten year old car you can achieve the "scrappage" price. Fine, but if you want the warranty you face seven years of Kia main dealer servicing costs.

That's how Kia make their money. Remember Lexmark printers? Cheap to buy but they hook you in with vastly expensive cartridge costs.

Kia has few main dealers, and servicing and particularly parts costs are huge compared with many other makes. Whatever the OFT says, don't expect Kia to be co-operative with independent garages. "Sorry, sir, but the washer needs to be sent from Korea. Two weeks it'll take and it'll cost £150." As ever, a prospective buyer should consider total cost of ownership. Seven years of main dealer costs will eventually wipe the smile off even the most evangelistic initial purchaser.

I did not post it as 'true' I merely asked as certain makes did require you to service the car at dealer every year, now I know this is not the case as the Op listed the terms.

Sorry but you did post it as true. Though you deleted your post (why?) the quote is still in my reply and here:

Yeah - but you wont be in time for scrappage scheme and it wont be this price. We enquired for my OH and they said it has to be delivered before scrappage scheme ends and that wont happen for an auto as they have to order them specially. Also costs 1k more.
#40
Instead of posting negative comments about a car/manufactuer which you have never drove, go and test drive one, then make your judgement.
Kia are now a very good car, and with the warranty no one can touch them.
I have owned VX'S,Fords,Volvo's and many more, my Kia is nearly 3 years old and no problems what so ever.
