great price whould rather buy my own as fire brigade has more important things to spend there money on rather than people that wont spend £3 on life saving smoke alarm Small price to pay for somthing as important as this. Still if you cant afford £3 then get one from fire brigade

Often more a case that you can't FIT one... some Fire Brigades & Community safety projects will fit one in place which is ideal for the elderly or disabled.

yes i agree free fitting should be for the elderly or disabled but if every one claims free ones this service cannot be sustained same thing happens with blue cross using it as free Vet service

I think (not 100% sure) but i think the fire brigade install the electric ones?. Wired into the maze, they will also look at your chip pan, and if its one of those on the gas ones, they'll give you a deep fat fryer, best to have a google for your local fire station it should be on their :)
