Since it started, far more families have started eating in our cafe, and we haven't been given any more staff. And people abuse us as they're waiting 20+ mins for a meal as we have around 15 families to deal with at any one time.

Is it one free meal per child per £5 spent or is it all kids... no i'm not a chav with 20 kids... just wondering.

i would ask the manager of the store to deal with the complaints, dont take the crap, your not paid to do that.

Just looked at our local store menu & it is 2 for £6 for a vegetable burger or jacket potato or 2 for £8 other meals. Still a great deal with drinks though (_;)

Not the customers fault more like management need to sort out staffing levels

As for having more people and being busy that's the point of the offer.

If they are giving meals out for £1.50 each theres no money for more staff, the customers will have to stick it, people can only do so much. At the end of the day cheap and good service don't usually go together.

I sympathise with the cafe staff. Kids don't eat free really - they are subsidised by those without.

Boo hoo. Do you really expect people to wait as long as 20 minutes for anything at a grocery store and not get frustrated? You're speaking as if busy = bad, when it's actually asserting the requirement for you as a member of staff. I'd be worried if you were sitting there twiddling your thumbs, as is so often the case in the world of non-efficient retail.

I can't wait for the day when clerks are replaced with machines so I no longer need to interact with stupidity.

Do people expect me to make 20 meals per minute? The foods crap, but it's still required that it be heated. I can't think of a single occasion in the last two years where I have "Twiddled me thumbs". We were working to capacity before this deal, as on average we have only 3 members of staff. As for machines replacing clerks, who then would spit in the food of arrogant prats such as yourself?

Went into the Scarborough one 4 times last week while on holiday, and it was never busy, the busiest was about 8 tables if that, hardly busy at all.

If you are run off your feet its a management issue , not a customer one.

I don't mind waiting 20 minutes as the food is pretty decent in Morrisons, if the person on the till explains the waiting times when ordering customers have no reason to complain, have you thought about telling customers about the waits when ordering ?

Who on Earth do you think you are? There is no need to be so arrogant and insulting on a web site like this. Working retail is so much harder than you might think, yes its unskilled, which is reflected in the low wages, but still very hard and stressful. Please show a little more respect towards your fellow humans.

This is a really fantastic deal. Also worth noting that when you do the adult meals at 2 for £5/£6 or £8 you also get 2 adult drinks (a medium fizzy or hot drink) free. So unlike many cheap deals you really do only spend the £5/6/8 for the entire meal for 4.

Kids get their meal (not bad - on a par with kids menus anywhere else), a Caprisun (the good pure fruit ones, not the cheaper ones), a fruit bag and a chocolate Freddo.

Service is a bit slow but that's due to the volume of people ordering food! If I was paying full price for it I'd probably have a bit of a moan but as it is I'm quite happy to wait. Usually order, leave hubby and kids at the table, do a quick run round the store and head back in time for the food arriving.

We've been several times over the past few weeks. Much less hassle than cooking and the odd cruddy meal out won't do any of us any harm.

In response to a number of comments, yes, staffing shortages is a management issue. The abuse hurled at myself and my coworkers over the time taken for service is a customer issue however. When there are no seats left for people to sit in, surely customers can establish we are infact working flatout, we just have a large workload. I have never spat in or sabotaged any meal, nor has anyone I've worked with in the past 4 years. But yes, the arrogance of some customers, akin to that of some posters on HUKD, certainly does test your morals. On the plus side, one more year of my degree, and I'll hopefully be free of customer service jobs. Will always have a bit of patience and respect for those that do work them though.

Good deal if you have kids, if you dont have kids I'd keep away, sounds like hell

In my local, the majority of diners don't have kids. Seems to be mostly elderly couples or builders from local worksite.

I'd say ratio is about 66:34 in favour of non child parties.

Probably because the food was very very poor, Morrisons is very good IMO
