Throughout September 2008, children aged 2-11 go free at Blackpool Pleasure Beach when you purchase a full paying adult wristband (normal cost of child ticket, £20). Not sure whether it's book online only or whether it applies at the gate too. Online tickets must be bought at least 12 hours in advance.

The wristband also includes entry into one of the Pleasure Beach shows including their spectacular ice-skating show, "Hot Ice".

September might not be a convenient month for everyone, but it's not too bad considering that Blackpool's famous 6-mile stretch of Illuminations are currently running every night and there's Musical Firework Championships from North Pier at around 8.30pm every Friday during September.

For those who want to stay overnight, there's a Travelodge on the way into Blackpool, where rooms start at £39 per night, although you may be able to get cheaper at a local B&B.

My brother owns a hotel / b&b in Blackpool

The Henson Hotel on Clifton Drive, its perfect for the Pleasure beach as its situated behind the Big One (opposite the expensive Big Blue hotel lol)

He also allows parking there, whether you stay or not for a fiver for the day

Not that i'm giving him a plug or anything:whistling:

Blackpoolowl, what's the name of your hotel. Don't be shy on here!
I love Blackpool but would never stay in a travelodge, especially as you get no meals with them!

Big up to the hotels of Blackpool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would rather stay in a travelodge than a family run hotel/B&B. It often works out cheaper to get a family room than stay in a B&B and the standards are generally higher. Well done Blackpool council, I am glad they are trying to improve accomodation standards.

you know nothing maddog.
we have been here 22 years & give a service second to none! travelodges may be cheaper (which is debateable btw, we have been doing b&b&em for £99 per person this august & been sooo busy) but dont include meals, friendly service etc. we are in the very centre of town so you dont have to pay for taxis which you would in the travelodges.
find a subject you know something about!

How is it debateable if a travelodge is £59 per night (for 4 people) and you charge £99 per person? Last time I checked breakfast and an evening meal for 4 didn't cost £340!

Much prefer B&B's myself than a Travel Inn / Lodge or whatever as they have so much more character.

Stayed in Hull Road last year ourselves the place was called The Albion and was nice enough and situated right in the town centre by the Tower and Sea Life Centre.

Had a massive bedroom it was like a double room yet we only paid for 2 adults and a small child - we had a double bed unused. It was actually pretty much the same as a B&B we previously stayed in in Scarbourgh, both were massive rooms and both were number 4 at the top of the stairs, I think room 4 must normally be the biggest in most of these places or something. ;-) Much bigger than what you'd ever get in a Travel Lodge.

Anyway back on topic this seems a really good deal. We went to Haven Blackpool last week (2 adults and 4 kids this time) The kids wanted to go the Pleasure Beach but it was just too expensive.

I worked out a family ticket for us booking in advance on their website and it came to a staggering £118. And paying on the gate would have cost more still!

the £99 was for a week andy! cheaper than travelodge? i think so. we are currently doing any week in the illuminations for £125 per person children 1/2 price beat that travelodge & we are not just soul-less rooms & staff with no personality! they dont care if people come back where as we do! we have had the same guests coming for over 20 years, must be doing something right?
taksim...the albion is in vance road. wayne & tracey are at the back of us.

3 girls trying to get ready in a tiny B&B room. Give me a travelodge any day. Going this bank holiday for £9 a room for 2 adults and 2 children. don't think any B&B can beat that and ample car parking.

I couldn't get this offer to work - when I book online for 2 adults and 2 children the children aren't 'free'

do you have to pay to get into blackpool pleasure beach to only go into the ice arena or can you just pay for the ice arena and not pay to get into the blackpool pleasure beach
