They are almost as good a standard as the pics of a Vivitar camera, a little darker and more blurred, the timing is not as fast either! Great starter camera for the kids though, good games to keep them happy and very robust.

lol

it's 0.3MP. I'm sure there are many cheap cameras around with better resolution than this just not as kiddy focused. For something better but still unbreakable and kiddy look like could consider Fisher Price camera it's 37.49 in argos but comes with 1.3MP and 60MB capacity (Vtech has only 8MB) It's also waterproof so could do underwater pics http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0474382/Trail/searchtext%3EFISHER-PRICE+KID+TOUGH.htm

still good find - heat added

It's actually 2mp and has 16mb, you can add another 2 gig SD card from Amazon for a fiver which you can't do with the Fisher Price one.

really good price for this :)

My kids have one of these each - paid about £32 for them, from Costco

They make for a very robust, easy to use first camera. The image quality is very poor, but tbh my kids didn't really care about that - they just had a great time being able to take their own pics (and add funny hats to random pictures).

My lad is now getting a bit frustrated with his (he is 6 and a half) as he cannot zoom, and the flash is pretty poor. I will probably get him a cheapy digital camera with zoom etc soon - but I think this was a great start in photography for him - he was free to take pics as and when he wanted, without anyone looking over his shoulder and worrying about the camera falling on the floor.

Yes but the V tech supports up to 2GB of memory with an SD card, which are cheap as chips.

Heat added, purchased my first Christmas Present!

I had some coupons that I hadn't used (I've stopped shopping at Tescos and moved to Sainsburys) so got the price down to £17.97 in the end... the £5 voucher worked so thankyou for that.

I hope my 6yr old isn't too old for this??? what do you think?
#22
Hovered before buying as thinking about it but my daughter loves taking photos and can this really get much better than £27.47 ?
#23
I decided to use the 500 extra points code on this rather than £5 as means £20 towards something later on Tesco Deals.

There are a couple of newer models out - A camouflage one which would have been good but not listed here and a new one with Zoom and MP3 player - About £80 so not really worth the extra...... could buy a better player for no where near the difference anyway

I looked at this and similar a month or two ago when my toddler would not leave my camera alone. It was about £50 or so then so this is a great result.

Got this last year for our 2 year old and she loves it - pic quality is pretty poor, but she doesn't notice - quite amazing some of the random things that I find on there!!!!! We had originally got the Fisher Price on and it was promptly returned - if I remember rightly the button was on the front somewhere and tricky for little hands to find and also, the USB port was in where the batteries are (which you had to unscrew) - Vtech one is more more easily accessible and also has a very handy SD slot. Battery life is also much better - I've used rechargable batteries in it and have never had my daughter say they have run out! When it gets down to 1 bar I top them up!

Ours worked fine til about 8 weeks ago when it suddenly stopped working and Argos wouldn't replace and I had to contact Vtech direct, they said to post it back to them, within a week we received a shiny brand new one!!!!! So can't complain there!!!! The software is fun too - lots of kiddie borders etc!
