Good price, must have reduced it again tho i opted for the steelbook edition :) i believe this is the best price for standard edition and the free theme. Hot

shopto are more likely to get you the game before play. I'd rather pay the 50p extra and saves the hassle of trying ot get the rac code to work.

True but its an extra £1.50 if you've already used the £1 credit. And the fact theres a slim chance id be in to sign for the shopto delivery means id end up waiting longer to play the game as id have to go pick it up later in the week, so play's delivery is a big bonus for me :-D

shopto gets my vote everytime even if had to pay an extra £1, postie always just puts their games through letterbox without the signing
#6
Also 4% quidco can knock another £1.20 ish off.

here is another review for those who are thinking of buying this game

http://www.gameplayer.com.au/gp_documents/090130KIllzone-2.aspx

"It means Killzone 2 marches other console shooters to the existing benchmark, and unceremoniously bends them over it."

"In our opinion, Killzone 2 has managed to avoid becoming a victim of the hype, but we still think it’ll be bashed by the same narrow-minded naysayers all the same. To those people, we say: experience it first (play, not YouTube), express your amazement afterwards."

I agree, Shopto have never let me down. You can also get KZ2 for £28.99 minus the £1 code if you use their new TextTo service. Follow the big red banner link on home page to find out more.

Why the hell would you want to do that!
#16
cheers op gone for this
#17
Let's not forget 4% Quidco too, taking it down to £27.35.

Only thing is, looking at these prices, supermarkets are bound to stick a £25 price tag on this come launch day...

There are some parts of the game that use the sixaxis tilt function and I am not sure there is an alternative control method, may be worth checking first or the adaptor may be no good for this game

Nice but I'm hoping Asda might do a deal on release.

Play have always been okay for me with preorders. Although with a Nintendo DS I bought they could have packaged it slightly better, but generally never had any problems.

Do you reckon the game will be cheaper by mid march-ish? I don't get out of uni till then so there's no point in getting it at release date.
#23
what is stopping me getting that theme without play.com preorder from unoffficial website :P

Haha love it. Either way this is the cheapest pre order available with or without the theme, and play have never let me down for pre orders and the fact i dont have to sign for it (i didnt tip my postie a tenner :whistling:) is also a bonus for me :)
#26
Didn't have to sign for it? Do you mean you claim the money back from Play saying you never recieved it? Somebody tell or PM me!

That'll work well....

The SIXAXIS controller has been integrated into Killzone 2 and suprisingly works well. By using the sniper in Killzone 2 you need to keep your controller ’steady’ to get a nice and good aim, like COD and holding your breath. Looks like another great use of the SIXAXIS. Must suck if you got the shakes?

Who knows, i imagine thereis someone out there still waiting for COD4 to drop... it will only be a couple of weeks old so launch offers may have dried up. Sony are spending a lot on advertising this title so may hold the price but again no one knows.

Hot from me but i'll stick with my shopto preorder as i want it at launch or before and with play shipping from jersey thats less likely.

No thats just theft. All i mean is that i wont be in to sign for it seen as shopto send recorded so i wont get it early anyway, whereas play will just post if through the door regardless of whether im in or not.

Yeah if it comes to using the six axis in the game and it simply HAS to be used to progress then I will plug the PS3 'pad' back in :whistling:

Anything to avoid that goddam PS3 pad...

I wouldnt promote it but a few years ago i ordered prince of persia sands of time from play and it actually didnt turn up (shouldnt be saying this seen as im op and saying play are good at delivery :p , more of a royal mail screw up tho) but their service is great and after 21 days i told them it hadnt come and they sent me another copy no questions asked and it arrived 2 days later.

I think it was many months later i got a letter from royal mail apologising that my packaging had turned up all ripped and the contents were missing. A thieving postie they told me. Now then why would i tip my postie a tenner for 'good service' haha.

You're very welcome. Yes, the only gaming audience not interested in "Killzone 2" after that "Playr" programme will be all those who bought the 'other' console & are going to hate it on principle that they do not wish to admit their mistake.

Well done Guerrilla; not only for the game, the attention to detail, the devotion to your art, but also to the fact that you all presented yourselves as very talented & passionate professionals who were genuinely excited about how “Killzone 2” has been created.

I sincerely hope they are *very* well rewarded for their efforts.

BFN,

fp.
