I can't believe the prices some people are trying to sell this at! Just did a quick google, and pixmania are trying to flog it for £56.78?! Insane!

I just found that you can get between 5-25% student discount on Game Gear if you've got a valid NUS number! At the checkout where it says voucher code, just underneath it click on "NUS Student? Click here" and it'll allow you to pop in your NUS number. This, plus the 4% quidco makes this the cheapest by far.

Link to their 'Student Discount Scheme' small print

up to 25%.. so how much % would be deducted from Killzone 3?

Not sure, would need a student to try. You can test how much is going to be deducted by putting in your NUS number and clicking apply at the checkout without actually purchasing I believe.

Regardless, even with the minimum 5% + 4% quidco, that'll make it £30.09 delivered.

Very true, still a really good deal.

With regards to the NUS discount...

"Discount Applied
The discount is valid but is not applicable to any items in the basket."

Maybe it's classed as a sale item so student discount doesn't apply :(

Meh was worth a try, cheers for trying Bilkos_Ices. I wonder why it's not applicable on that though. It states in the smallprint:

on all items with the exception of Consoles and Sale items

I only just saw they've got "Was: £39.55" crossed through, bah! :(

Yeah, I remember KZ3 and LBP2 being posted at roughly the same time. I had never used Bee so gave it a miss. Used ShopTo and paid more, but got it 2 days early. Nearly got the Plat, so will sell it on to CeX for £33 when I'm done.
#17
Going by all the other price drops lately this will be £22 in a week!

Who pays over £20 for games anymore.

Be patient and it will be down to £22 in one month, £17 in two months

So, people who have to have it NOW! So, I kinda agree, but with some things, if it takes to long and everyone waits, who is going to play multiplayer online?! I get your point, and I vowed never to pay retail for a game ever again, and am sticking to that by getting 'sale' prices or pre-owned. GT5 though, was out in time for Xmas and I knew would never drop in a short period of time. Today at £28 at Bee is the lowest I have ever seen it and that has been out for 4 months, at least. HMV are offering £35 for it FCO (so it seems)

Everything in life is only worth what someone will pay for it. Were houses really worth in excess of £300k or whatever people pay in London for a 1 room toilet/bedroom/lounge and kitchen, No, but it's what they think it's worth and paid for it. Users of this site tend to be spot on, in general, and I wished I'd waited to get AvP about 2 weeks later than I did, but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing. The hype over KZ3 may be short lived, but, if people wanna get on multiplayer from the off, with lots of people, then get it now, as online numbers only tend to drop. Besides, they may sell it on for £20 or so and have paid £20 for a month or so use, which is cheaper than renting!

Soapbox removed! :)

PS if anyone does want a clan to hook up with and play Killzone 3, look us up at http://www.crimson-ravens.com, we have regular multiplayer games of KZ3 and MAG run every week. Must be over 16 and use a mic. Peace out

This will take roughly as long as black ops did to come down below the £30 mark which was around 3 months..............

Can see this been down to near £22 in 1 months time..... It happens on football games and stuff, not this type of game...........

Tesco's price is still good for a brand new release of a game this size.
#24
Exclusives tend to hold their value a little better than most cross-platform games. Well, half-decent ones at least.
#25
I got it today and played for 2 hrs online. I'm a huge fan of KZ2 and so far I like the new one. Some great sound effects and some of the new guns are very cool. The jetpack is also pretty damn good.

Thanks for this post, Hidnsight would be nice, but sometimes.....you just gotta say "oh well, it happens!"

Many retailers are offering £30-£35 trade back within 3 weeks on these titles, which is great! even better if you used store credit, Game are offering £35 trade for Bulletstorm until March 10th, so thats 2 weeks to play a game for a fiver, while its £7 for 7 nights at Blockbuster

I can't see Killzone 3 crashing badly soon, its a big release, with great online play and a fantastic campaign

Guys I'm a black ops person myself!

I am interested to know however what makes this game so different from the hyped and flop of Killzone 1? I've read reviews but I just don't really get the game, it's a bit too dark for me and just seems like everyone is crazed and on drugs or something!

So why do you guys like it so much and what makes it so different from black ops, apart from the future setting of course.

Well the main difference I found is that it's actually a good game.

Great price, heat added.

And to those who say it'll be £20 in a month etc, games havent reduced drastically in prices as quick as they did last year (other than the dross, Kane & Lynch?) for instance in every Assassins Creed Brotherhood thread everyone says oooo £2 more to the magic £17.99 blah bla and thats been out since November last year. So in 3 months is been reduced less than £20.... Think I'll play/buy it when new and trade/sell when im done. Its not like new games trade in prices are poor neither, sometimes you just lose a couple of quid than what it was when you bought (asda, tesco and cex all offer good prices for latest titles).

Guess its a similar scenario to anything though, TV's for instance people say I'll wait till there's another 'x' amount off the TV before I buy it then buy the time it happens something new is released.

Although obviously you may as well wait if you have other games you know you will play before this. I've lost count of the games I've still got in the wrapper so not buying anymore till I've made headway through a few.

I don't mind buying a game in first week of release as long as I am not paying RRP.

GT5 RRP was something stupid like £49.99 but I never paid that.

Games never go for RRP, the RRP for every game is £49.99 but have never ever seen a game in a store for that price, closest i have seen was the call of duty series which are usually £42.99 on release

Just to let you know, it's actually only 2% Quidco as they class this as a 'sale item' :)
